About the position:

As a Director Cloud Engineering & Dev Ops we need your help in delivering an ambitious roadmap to scale our organization while continuing to build a reliable and high-quality Cloud Engineering organization. You'll lead our Cloud & Platform Engineering managers and professionals in Ireland N. Ireland India Poland and N. America. In addition you'll help steward us toward our future platform ambitions building the teams strategy and success metrics for our next generation of GP's platform.

You will lead the continued growth of engineering with an emphasis on championing a strong engineering culture measuring and increasing delivery velocity ensuring high quality and achieving schedule predictability. Ultimately you will play a key role in building the foundations of Globalization Partner's highly-scalable platform offering helping to make it easier for our developers and business to scale. In addition you will be a key partner in recruiting and building diverse engineering teams and fostering an environment for career advancement.

What you will do:

• Lead teams across Cloud Engineering focused on Engineering Enablement Cloud Security Observability and Scaling the G-P platform

• Partner with Product and Platform engineering teams to define vision strategy roadmap and deliverables

• Lead functions within Cloud Engineering including networking optimization data store efficiencies platform reliability and cloud security

• Build and operate scalable reliable and resilient infrastructure and delivery platforms for G-P's products and platform

• Define strategies to build and maintain AI platform to enable development and deployment of machine learning models

• Abstract away infrastructure complexity

• Act as a force multiplier enabling internal teams including SRE and Development

• Maintain enterprise-grade SLAs

• Establish effective incident response schedules and playbooks

• Build and optimize partnerships with key stakeholders and leaders from across Engineering Product and Customer Support

• Promote DevOps practices across the organization

What we are looking for:

• 15-20 years of experience in building IaaS and PaaS capabilities up to an enterprise level

• 7+ years of experience leading technical programs managers and teams (>20 members) across time zones

• 5+ years experience as an individual contributor

• Deep technical experience across a number of services in the AWS cloud ecosystem

• Experience with running serverless and container infrastructure at scale

• Experience leading multiple teams in a fast-paced agile environment

• Experience leading teams to understand tradeoffs and to select the optimal solution to meet both business and technical requirements

• Excellent communication with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Ability to guide and influence senior leadership across the organization

• Relationship building with executive leadership

• Python Java or JavaScript development experience

• BS in Computing Software Engineering or equivalent experience

• Public Cloud Certification(s) (AWS Azure or GCP) are plus
