Director, Communications Business Partner

The Legal team is responsible for managing the legal affairs of the company, including providing legal counsel across the organization, handling disputes, and creating and enforcing intellectual property.

ResMed is looking for a Director, Communications Business Partner to provide communications counsel, content creation, writing, and communications execution for one of our four business verticals and teams within it.

In this role, you'll be a part of ResMed's Global Corporate Communications team partnering with leaders across the business to advise on and develop enterprise-level communications strategies, as well as write and develop content that engages, connects, and inspires our team members and the broader ResMed organization. You'll have strong business and strategic acumen with a proven ability to translate strategy and concepts into communications programs and materials that inspire and engage audiences. This role will have communications responsibilities with internal and external stakeholders, working closely with the broader Corporate Communications team to ensure global strategic messaging and brand consistency are reflected in all communications.

This role reports to the Sr. Director, Corporate Communications.

Responsibilities:

• As an individual contributor, you'll partner with leaders in the business vertical you support, advising on the right forum, timing, and content of communications to ensure target audiences are informed, inspired, and empowered to help ResMed meet its short- and long-term goals.
• Develop and execute communications strategies and plans. You will manage priorities, tactical elements, and deadlines for communications projects for the functions and teams supported.
• Understand key business objectives within the team you support, shaping narrative(s) and stories that highlight the value we deliver to our customers and the teams that help us do this.
• Strategize and write communications for key initiatives and executives, adapting voice and tone as appropriate. Provide hands-on writing and communication support for the teams.
• Partner with subject matter experts (commercial leaders, product development and management, marketing, and others) to create meaningful and relevant communications.
• Help amplify the function's or vertical's communications to the broader ResMed organization by utilizing ResMed's various communications channels, ensuring important content is accessible, read, and understood.
• Coordinate communications efforts to align with broader ResMed strategic and brand messaging.
• Creatively use a combination of different communication formats and channels to inform and inspire global ResMedians.

Basic Qualifications

• 10+ years of communications experience working with and providing guidance to leaders in a global organization.
• Strong writing skills with the ability to develop and execute content for audiences that drives understanding of the business, strategy, and goals
• Direct experience working in a stakeholder-focused role with a strong understanding of the company culture as well as varying stakeholder audiences

Preferred Qualifications

• Strategic thinker, able to understand the context and connect dots to stay ahead of issues and maximize opportunities, but willing to do the work of content creation.
• Visual communications experience: designing presentations, creating videos, and other creative assets as tools to explain complex topics.
