The Opportunity
Clarios' North America region, one of our largest regions, is poised for growth. We're looking for a dynamic, executive-level communications leader who can roll up his or her sleeves to work directly with our North America leadership team and colleagues around the world.
A Clear Mandate to Lead
As the head of communications for our North America business, this leader will develop and implement integrated internal, external and executive communications strategies needed to advance regional business objectives and deliver measurable results.
Strategic Focus Areas
- Support the U.S. & Canada VP and GM and the entire regional leadership team as a dedicated communications partner by providing executive communications support, internal and change communications strategy, and external communications leadership.
- Design and build a U.S. & Canada communications organization in partnership with the VP, Communications for the global enterprise.
- Partner with the U.S. & Canada original equipment and aftermarket sales teams to: (1) support key industry events such as the Automotive Aftermarket Expo, the Specialty Equipment Market Association expo, the Consumer Electronics Show and others; and (2) develop and implement creative strategies to highlight Clarios' technology leadership for our customers.
- Collaborate with the Director, North America Talent Acquisition, and the corporate social responsibility team to develop an ongoing integrated communications campaign to position Clarios as an employer of choice in the communities that host our U.S. facilities.
- Become a strategic advisor to U.S. plant managers as they work to engage their employees, improve retention rates and transform their facilities.
- Develop and spearhead a U.S. Plant Ambassadors program helping to create a network of champions to support local communications and cultivate a culture focused on effective internal and external communication.
- Lead regional crisis communications planning and response efforts in close collaboration with Clarios' global leadership team.
- Identify core metrics, establish measurement plan, track progress and articulate ROI on internal and external activities.
Skills, experience and requirements
- Successful, demonstrated track record of working with senior leaders to help achieve business goals and results.
- Critical thinker capable of synthesizing complex ideas and creating audience-relevant strategies.
- Ability to lead in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Willingness to set strategy as well as execute.
- Media relations experience preferred.
- Ability to use metrics to make informed decisions.
- Ability to work across boundaries in matrixed organization to develop strong relationships and deliver results.
- Demonstrated process orientation/capability.
- Proven ability to manage multiple vendors and to collaborate with other leaders to leverage costs.
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism or other related field.
- 10+ years of communications experience.
- Superior written, editorial and presentation skills.
- Experience with crisis communications.
- Travel up to 50% (visiting Clarios' facilities throughout the US)
- Can live remotely within the US.
