The Director, Compensation will lead and assume accountability for the design, implementation, administration, and governance of Amplify's base and bonus compensation programs. This role will drive continuous improvement within the HR function, drawing on external and internal practices and innovative HR thinking on compensation and equity initiatives.
Amplify's COVID-19 vaccination policy requires all staff to provide proof of vaccination for in-person meetings unless an approved exemption is provided.
Responsibilities of the Director, Compensation:
Strategic
  • Direct the strategic design, implementation and administration of compensation programs including salary administration, incentives, and incentive plan formats, pay differentials and other variable compensation pay programs and provide recommendations to modify existing programs.
  • Set up cadence of regular reviews of market competitiveness, program review, and data audits. Identifies trends, makes recommendations, and ensures legal compliance.
  • Develop, implement, and guide global compensation programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Develop, maintain, and present on compensation metric reporting and trends.

Operational
  • Create and maintain organizational tools for managers and employees including compensation ranges, and decision making and analysis tools.
  • Conduct job evaluation analysis to evaluate internal equity, external competitiveness, and legal compliance of the organization's pay practices.
  • Lead all aspects of the equity compensation program administration and maintain the compensation system architecture (levels, classifications, grades). Market price and classify new and/or revised positions into the compensation architecture.
  • Lead the annual compensation planning program including merit pools, salary ranges, and bonus payout communication.
  • Partner with the VP, Total Rewards & HR Operations to complete the pay equity analysis.

People & Leadership
  • Lead compensation team.
  • Collaborate effectively with key partners in Legal, Finance and Human Resources to ensure compensation programs and processes are compliant, cost effective, and operationally efficient.
  • Partner with HRIS team on Workday compensation functionality and business processes.
  • Act as an internal consultant on compensation to HR business partners and management team as needed.
  • Develop and management effective working relationships with compensation program vendors and advisors to support effective governance and administration.

Basic Qualifications of the Director, Compensation:
  • Bachelors in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field.
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP)
  • HR professional with demonstrable experience of 8+ years
  • Experience in management role of 3+ years
  • Proficient knowledge related to all facets of compensation program development and design.
  • Proficient knowledge of executive compensation and rewards including tax and regulatory influences, short and long-term incentive plan design.
  • Ability to effectively exchange information, in verbal or written form, by sharing ideas, reporting facts and other information, responding to questions and employing active listening techniques
  • Ability to establish workflows, manage multiple projects, and meet defined timelines.
  • Advanced Excel / Google Sheets skills.
  • HRIS compensation administration skills.

Preferred Qualifications of the Director, Compensation:
  • Masters in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field.
  • Certified Global Remuneration Professional (GRP)
  • Global re-numeration experience

What we offer:
Salary is only one component of the Amplify Total Rewards package, which includes a lucrative 401(k) plan, incentive stock options, competitive health insurance and mental health options, basic life insurance, paid time off, parental leave, and access to best-in-class development programs. The gross salary range for this role is $150,000 - $160,000. This role is eligible to receive an annual discretionary bonus that rewards individual and company performance.
