Director, Compliance and Privacy
Job Description
The Director of Compliance and Privacy serves as Claritas Rx primary executor and administrator of the compliance and privacy program, including serving as the Company‘s HIPAA Privacy Officer. The Director of Compliance and Privacy requires managerial leadership in effectively partnering with internal Claritas Rx team members, customers, and vendors to find solutions to compliance and privacy questions, enforcing company-wide policies and procedures as they relate to federal, state and local regulations governing the practices and procedures regarding Claritas Rx. The Director of Compliance and Privacy is responsible for compliance with all regulatory requirements, contract requirements and for conducting, coordinating, and reporting audit and investigative activities.
Essential Functions
- Manage the Claritas Rx Compliance Program that includes policies and procedures for employees, agents and contractors, which complies with all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations
- Coordinate and communicate to internal departments and external customers and vendors, where appropriate, all Claritas Rx compliance and privacy activities
- Manage and develop the Claritas Rx strategic and comprehensive privacy program that defines, develops, maintains and implements policies and processes that enable consistent, effective privacy practices which minimize risk and ensure the confidentiality of protected health information (PHI), paper and/or electronic, across all media types.
- Maintain and develop policies and procedures to meet compliance and privacy requirements of contracts
- Manage and further develop internal risk assessment program to inform leadership of operational risks
- Evaluate and plan projects to develop compliance programs around GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA
- Lead compliance and privacy-related interaction with outside advisors including legal, regulatory, auditors, and other consultants
- Responsible for required breach determination and notification processes under HIPAA and applicable State breach rules and requirements
- Assume broad and targeted responsibilities on key cross-functional working groups, teams and initiatives
- Nurture and foster a culture of compliance and ethics within Claritas Rx
- Other duties or projects as assigned
Who You Are
- Bachelor’s degree required. JD preferred
- 5+ years (with in-house in a biopharma or pharma services company preferred)
- Expert knowledge of Privacy, Compliance or Commercial Regulatory topics for Pharma Industry
- Experience interacting with all levels of an organization, including executive leadership.
- Expert level understanding of HIPAA, SOC-2, CCPA and AMA guidelines
- Sound, practical judgment in the interpretation and application of relevant laws, regulations, industry codes and company policies
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to advise, counsel, interact effectively and achieve consensus with a variety of stakeholders
- High level of integrity and trust

- Strong project management skills, Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Excellent writing skills, confident and polished public speaker
