What we’re looking for

The Director of  Credit Risk will identify, assess, measure, and manage settlement credit risk for MPLs, and Credit Card/BAAS Programs. This person will also be responsible for conducting independent credit risk assessments on third party program managers for bin sponsorships, providing effective challenge to first line teams, and ensuring that significant risks are promptly identified and collateralized.

Responsibilities:

• Monitoring and continued enhancement of the credit risk appetite framework
• Identify and develop credit risk metrics reporting (e.g., KRIs and KPIs) to continuously monitor and oversee risk of program managers
• Provide effective challenge to first line through independent reviews of critical credit risk processes
• Conduct quantitative analysis on risk management data to drive insights and recommendations for first line teams
• Develop requirements to support next generation risk capabilities
• Ongoing monitoring of consumer loan originations, bin sponsorship collateral obligations vs settlement exposure
• Approval of limits and reserve settings
• Escalate issues and emerging risks in accordance with risk appetite program to line 1 and senior management
• Participate in client annual reviews from a credit oversight perspective

Qualifications:

• Leadership experience in consumer risk management or a similar role;
• Consumer credit risk management experience is required
• Strong business acumen with a risk-reward control perspective;
• Experience in data-driven analytics, including analyzing structured and unstructured data;
• Familiarity with applicable consumer regulatory requirements;
• Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple priorities under pressure;
• Degree in quantitative or a related field
