Director, Content Strategy
Job Description
This role is for a senior individual contributor in the Research Architecture team within Gartner's Content Strategy organization focused on innovating the core processes, systems, guidance, and content architecture that enables Gartner Research & Advisory (R&A) to deliver actionable, objective insights to clients and to support business growth, client engagement and retention.
What you will do:
- Owns complex R&A-led initiatives, programs and projects from identification and ideation, design and creation, as well as implementation and ongoing business management to ensure the forecast benefits are met.
- Works independently, as well as collaboratively to achieve results.
- Partner with and influence stakeholders across all business teams including R&A, IT, Sales and Client Services.
- Collaborate with the senior stakeholders on your team to scope and prioritize projects.
- Supports execution of methodologies and content architecture by leveraging best practices in:
- Process management - demonstrate effective process management through process design, execution and service excellence.
- Process design - design excellent processes and/or optimize existing processes, using convention of efficiency, simplicity, leverage, data utilization, and change management.
- Process execution - end to end cost management, effective use of resources and feedback in all processes, effective and timely issue resolution and root cause analysis.
- Develops business cases and scope documents for projects.
- Creates project plans and supporting documentation for each project.
- Works with IT (and others where applicable) to develop requirements and ensure fast and accurate development of new tools and content types.
- Designs and delivers program communications and presentations to all levels of management within and beyond R&A.
- Identifies opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement.
- Establishes criteria and develops reports and analyses that assess and manage the effectiveness of initiatives.
- Guides and matrix manage project teams, coaches and mentors project managers and team members.
- Maintains an excellent understanding of distinct R&A content and products and can help and support Gartner associates related to any aspect of the content or products.
- Provides input and support to peer teams where required.
- Contributes to the delivery of Gartner business goals by developing and implementing research strategy programs that improve client engagement and retention, by improving the organization's ability to deliver must-have content and support compelling interactions to clients.
- Ensures methodologies programs demonstrate value and return on investment, increase Research content visibility, enhance the customer experience and improve analyst/expert effectiveness.
- Portfolio of projects is managed, reported and communicated through their lifecycle and delivered to defined purpose and deadlines as expected to grow and scale the business.
- Research requirements are surfaced, documented and implemented.
- Creates reporting, training and communications efforts to ensure projects are delivering on purpose and business impact.
What you will need:
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree; Master's degree preferred.
- 8+ years' experience, with progressive responsibility, independently managing complex programs, projects, and processes that demonstrate positive business impact within a large and complex organization.
- Demonstrated track record of designing and managing optimized processes, projects and programs in a global workforce environment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a broad spectrum of roles and titles, including senior executives.
- Ability to work independently and as a collaborative team player, with excellent time management & prioritization skills to effectively manage a diverse workload, multiple non-routine complex projects, with many concurrent priorities and tight deadlines.
- Strong business acumen, able to see the big picture and make complex tradeoffs to optimize outcomes.
- Proficiency in drawing inferences from data and creating charts and consumable graphics.
- High fluency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Experience working with enterprise applications, databases, analytical tools, and standard reporting tools.
Who you are:
- Demonstrated track record managing content, strategy or product and/or product strategy and programs.
- Experience working in a complex and fast paced global workforce preferably in Research, Consulting, or Media industries.
- Demonstrated track record for leading change management initiatives.
- Design thinking, customer/user experience, and/or market research skills
- An understanding of a variety research methods and their application
