Job Summary
The Director of Content Strategy is responsible for driving Comcast Business' B2B content strategy and brand position across all business segments (Small Business, Mid-Market, Enterprise & Public Sector) to fuel Comcast Business' brand position and business growth.
Director will be a highly visible leader within the Brand Strategy team, responsible for partnering across the business and with agency and media partners to bring Comcast Business to life in the market through a clear, differentiated, & compelling content strategy that can drive execution across touchpoints - including, but not limited to, Brand & Demand Gen Communications, Events / Experiential, Executive Communications, Internal Communications, Earned Media, and Sales Enablement programs.
Director will lead Content Strategy for Comcast Business, delivering a smart, insight-led vision for the role of content and thought leadership across the buyer's journey. Director must be able to work cross-functionally to translate strategy into action - managing an annual content plan for all segments.
Ideal candidate will have deep experience in B2B thought leadership and content strategy. We are looking for an articulate, strong writer that can develop content independently and also direct partners (freelance writers, media partners, analyst firms, etc.) to deliver the brand message and vision. This role requires strong technology expertise in areas of data networking, cybersecurity, and UCaaS and will require candidate to translate complex technology into clear communication that connect with our audience and strongly position the Comcast Business brand. Candidate must be able to effectively work cross-functionally, partnering and influencing teams across the business and translating business priorities into meaningful content strategies. Director will partner very closely with Product Marketing organization within Commercial Marketing team to bring solutions to life in market in a compelling way that drives brand consideration and credibility within the B2B technology space.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Own content strategy - bring Comcast Business brand and solutions to life through meaningful strategy that will connect with our audience, advance our position, and drive business impact
- Champion brand's thought leadership narrative across all communications (paid/owned/earned) and brand touchpoints
- Understand content needs of various stakeholders and influence / drive alignment across the business
- Own annual thought leadership plan across all segments, working with internal team, agencies, and other third parties (agencies, media partners, analysts, etc.) to bring plan to life
- Drive innovation in content development - work with internal team and partners to deliver best-in-class content across a variety of formats (video, articles, blogs, audio, etc.)
- Measure effectiveness of content across channels and ensure programs are driving impact
- Manage content development budget in partnership with cross-functional team
- Lead internal team as well as agencies and other third parties to bring strategy to life
Required leadership skills:
- Exhibits strong, strategic vision related to content strategy and thought leadership in B2B technology
- Insight-driven leader; ability to exhibit understanding of B2B landscape and use consumer-first mindset
- Ideally, experience working with Channel and other sales teams models
- Ability to express strong, clear POV and lean in to drive projects in the face of ambiguity
- Proven cross-functional leader - able to reach across to Product, Product Marketing, Senior Leadership Team, Corporate Communications, .com, etc. to get things done together
- Innovative thinker, with a track record for translating strategic thinking into action
- Strong writer with ability to develop bespoke content (research, blogs, white papers, videos, infographics) and also direct partners (freelance writers, media partners, analyst firms, etc.) to express brand position; candidates will be asked to submit writing samples relevant to this role
- B2B content marketing experience and deep technology expertise - particularly in connectivity, networking, security, unified communications, mobile, etc.
- Excellent writing and verbal communications skills with strong executive presence
- Self-reliant, problem-solver, and results-oriented
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, prioritization ability, handle pressure and meet deadlines with a growth mindset
- Rigorous budget management skills
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in marketing, communications, journalism or related field
- 10-15+ years of marketing and/or communications experience with experience managing a team
