Our Ways of Working

We have team members located across the United States spanning multiple time zones. This means we put in extra effort to make sure we connect and collaborate in ways that make sense for us. We know how valuable the flexibility of remote work is for our employees. 

We know that personal connection is the foundation for the great work we do together. In order to build those relationships with team members in other cities, we meet with coworkers in person two times a year at a full company offsite and a departmental offsite. These offsites are expected of employees and are great opportunities to meet the people you work with every day and to do some of the work that is much more difficult to do virtually.

What the Role Is

We’re looking for our first Director of Corporate Development to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will drive M&A opportunity evaluation and execution as well as other company diligence support. Reporting to the CFO, you will play a crucial role in identifying and executing strategic partnerships, acquisitions, and investments that align with Babylist’s growth objectives. You apply a strategic filter to each opportunity, thoroughly assess and validate the why behind it, and build out compelling business cases for executives and key stakeholders. Who You Are

  • You have 10+ years of experience in corporate development, M&A and strategy consulting with recent experience at a growing consumer technology or media company
  • You have 4+ years of experience in a strategy consulting role at a reputable firm earlier in your career
  • Experience with M&A diligence; interfacing with lawyers, investors and bankers
  • Deep understanding of financial modeling and can understand business drivers for complex businesses
  • You can comfortably transition from being hands on and tactical, to strategic and influential 
  • You have strong business acumen and can conceptually understand the levers of growth and costs for different types of businesses 
  • Your are comfortable with complex data and strong analytical problem solving ability 
  • MBA preferred but not required

How You Will Make An Impact

  • Own corporate development project management. Act as the diligence lead and liaise between bankers, target management teams, legal counsel, etc. 
  • Partner with executives to understand potential targets and their strategic and financial unlocks to the Babylist business
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to leaders, senior management, and the Board of Directors
  • Source, research, and recommend potential M&A and strategic opportunities
  • Monitor and assess market participants and trends in the retail, media, health, and services space

Babylist takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. Your actual base salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location.

The estimated pay range for this role is $169,660.00- $248,502.00

In addition, Babylist offers equity, bonus, and benefits, including company paid health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, flexible spending account, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies.
