Position Overview

The Director, Creative Operations is the business and operating mind for the creative department. This role oversees and manages creative talent in the agency. The Director, Creative Operations is responsible for creating a space for proactive thinking and innovation and are continually tracking resourcing to ensure creative staffing aligns to client staff plans and expectations. Through a combination of systems development, process improvement, and partnership with account leads, finance, and the agency leadership team, the Director leads the charge to establish creative efficiencies, creative casting, and workflow.


Creative Operations

  • Work closely and in partnership with the Agency Leadership, Finance, Account, and Creative departments to ensure resources are deployed in alignment with client staff plans and according to Agency goals.
  • Stakeholder in preparation of Agency forecast along with business leads. Identify peaks and valleys across all clients and use this information to strategically plan new projects.
  • Prepare, distribute, and analyze creative resource utilization reports and communicate findings to the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Partner with Executive Creative Director and creative lead to inform team assignments, and long-term talent growth.
  • Spearhead and drive creative department staffing projects (mentorship and internship programs with schools and creative organizations).
  • Serve as office contact for creation of materials for awards submissions/shows.
  • Have their finger on the agency pulse - establishing/maintaining relationships with office leads and employees; must be a trusted, knowledgeable, go-to resource.
  • Works closely with office leaders on everyday office issues and new projects.

Creative Resource Management

  • Monitor day to day project activities and resources to ensure the pool of talent is fully utilized and that conflicts of priority across projects are resolved.
  • Collaborate with Creative Directors and Account Leads to review, prioritize and communicate appropriate resource requirements for each account and project by reviewing scopes and staffing plans.
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of each creatives' experience, strengths, and interests to staff projects effectively.
  • Play a lead role in creating the best environment for our creative talent to succeed. Monitor creative team performance and help identify opportunities for growth.

Creative Talent

  • Partner with Creative talent team to find world-class creative talent for Los Angeles office.
  • Partner with Creative Talent team to source, acquire and manage creative freelance talent
  • Other duties as assigned*

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or related experience
  • Experience: 8+ years of experience in Creative Resourcing Management at a Creative agency.

o Highly collaborative
o A natural planner who likes to scenario plan and get ahead of everything, and enjoys creating new process/finding ways to work more efficiently
o Experience building, maintaining, and analyzing operational reports to provide workflow insight and actionable recommendations for improvements
o Experience with and strong understanding of the creative process for integrated campaigns

o A positive spirit and energy who wants to contribute to making great creative work


The salary range for this position is $105K - $190K.
