The Opportunity:

At Analog Devices, we envision empowering innovators globally to effortlessly utilize ADI tools to revolutionize their product designs. We are looking for a visionary and dynamic Director to spearhead our Customer Design Tools division. The role is centered around augmenting user experiences and expediting tool development processes. It involves supervising the creation and management of software tools that assist in evaluating, designing, and integrating our semiconductor technology into customer applications across diverse market segments.

Responsibilities:

Oversee the development, support, and UX improvement of ADI's popular and productive tools, including LTpowerPlanner®, ACE, LTpowerPlay®, EE-Sim® , LTpowerCAD®, Visual Analog™, ADI Precision Studio, VirtualEval, and ADI design calculators. Research state-of-the-art patterns and software technologies to deliver the best tools and user experiences to our customers. Leverage centralization of resources to create best practices, processes, platforms, and frameworks for scalable, reliable, and user-friendly customer tools. Utilize dedicated tool QA and testing resources to ensure robust, dependable, and accessible tooling product development. Develop a working model with BUs to incorporate domain knowledge, ADI engineering expertise, and other relevant stakeholders into tool roadmaps and development plans with an emphasis on UX improvement. Provide regular training and communication to ensure all software development teams are aware of established standards, guidelines, and best practices related to UX. Encourage collaboration and information sharing among teams to foster continuous improvement, identify best practices, and enhance customer experiences. Manage geographically dispersed teams and demonstrate strong enterprise leadership skills.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. 10+ years of experience in design tool development, EDA development, hardware evaluation and configuration, simulation, modeling tools, and software development in the semiconductor industry. Knowledge and experience with desktop and web application architectures, patterns and paradigms such as model-view-controller (MVC), model-view-view-model (MVVM), dependency injection, factory pattern, electron, react or angular. Expertise in Custom Analog and Mixed-signal EDA tools. Expertise with design, simulation and verification tools. Demonstrated ability to lead and manage geographically dispersed teams.

  • Has familiarity with the product portfolio, System Apps, Field Applications, Designing or Building sub systems.
  • Has a natural ability to converse with a diverse range of people of varying backgrounds and nurture talent across the team.
  • Has experience managing technical hardware and software products from kick-off launch to production release.
  • Is passionate about continuous product improvement via cross-functional collaboration.
  • Is a strong advocate for user-centered design and the design thinking process within the organization.
  • Possesses a growth mindset, coupled with an enthusiastic passion for fostering the development and advancement of those around you.
