As the Director, Customer Growth Marketing, you will join a vibrant and diverse Marketing team that is focused on delivering revenue through an experimental growth marketing process; including segmentation and data-driven notifications, customer onboarding, lifecycle, growth, and retention programs, and email marketing. The Director, Customer Growth Marketing team will oversee a team of highly analytical and data driven, yet deeply customer-focused, growth marketers and hackers. You will be responsible for strategic decisions that drive revenue growth from existing customers while working closely with.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Lead and manage a high-performing team of customer growth marketing managers with expertise in product-led growth.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive customer growth strategy aligned with DigitalOcean's overall revenue objectives and product roadmap.
- Oversee all aspects of the customer lifecycle, including onboarding, activation, retention, and upsell/cross-sell campaigns.
- Craft compelling email marketing campaigns and in-product messaging to nurture user engagement and drive customer growth.
- Champion product-led growth principles, collaborating closely with product, growth engineering, and product marketing teams to create seamless user journeys and maximize product adoption.
- Leverage data analytics to identify customer behavior patterns and opportunities for growth, as well as segmentation and deep customer analysis
- Implement A/B testing and experimentation methodologies to optimize customer acquisition, engagement, and retention strategies.
- Develop and maintain a robust measurement framework to track the success of customer growth initiatives and demonstrate ROI.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest customer growth marketing trends and best practices.
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning within your team.
- Attract, develop, and retain top talent within the customer growth marketing field.
What We’ll Expect From You:
- 8 years managing and leading growth marketing teams in a high growth environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Business related fields of Marketing or Advertising
- Demonstrated experience in demand generation in the Cloud industry
- Marketing operations experience with best-in-class marketing tools like Pendo, Pocus, Segment.io, Snowflake
- Experience building and managing internal marketing teams that are responsible for revenue targets
- Proven track record of driving revenue growth at scale
- Ability to generate reports on key performance metrics and clearly communicate the results
- Proactive communication skills and track record of setting and executing on monthly, quarterly, and annual goals
- Deep understanding of SaaS based business models, including concepts around monthly recurring revenue and pay-back periods
- Demonstrable critical thinking and analytical skills, including the ability and confidence to make strategic decisions based on data

- We reward our employees. The base salary range for this position is between $190,000-$215,000 based on relevant years of experience and skills. The salary range for this role is specific to candidates located within the U.S. and will vary for candidates outside the U.S.. Employees may qualify for a bonus in addition to base salary; bonus amounts are determined based on company and individual performance. We also provide equity compensation to eligible employees including grants of equity upon hire and the option to participate in our Employee Stock Purchase Program.
