Description

The Director of Analytics will be focused on delivering complex analytics to internal consultants and directly to clients. S/he will establish and maintain relationships both internally and externally to ensure satisfaction of analytics service delivery. S/he will be responsible for the maintenance and usability of existing technology and analytical tools. This role will serve as the subject matter expert for expanding and developing new analytics products and tools. This role requires someone who has exceptional analytic skills, attention to detail, works well in directing others, and has subject matter expertise within the pharmacy benefit industry. The Director of Analytics is a client facing role and responsible for communicating complex analytical findings and conclusions.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Owner of analytics service delivery across the organization
  • Manage resource allocation and fill any gaps that exist between current resources and analytics demand
  • Maintain the usability of existing technology and analytical tools
  • Provide subject matter expertise for expanding and developing new products, technology and analytical tools
  • Maintain and ensure data quality for analytics and product needs
  • Maintain documentation and execution on analytics processes, procedures and best practices
  • Remain current on market trends and industry relevant news to support the evolving need for analytics
  • Partner with consultants and clients to evaluate and identify cost and utilization trends and experience.

 

Required Skills and Experience

 

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience analyzing, modeling, and manipulating Healthcare (pharmacy/PBM and/or medical) data required.
  • Knowledge of pharmacy data, PBM industry, medical procedures, health conditions, and provider practices.
  • Working knowledge of database applications, including extraction and querying skills. Proficient using SQL to extract data. SAS experience is a plus.
  • Experience analyzing raw data, with ability to think logically and process sequentially with a high level of detailed accuracy.
  • Analytical, problem solver, resourceful, quick learner
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and discipline to multitask and prioritize projects to meet scheduled deadlines.
  • Professionally interact with a diverse group of stakeholders including executives, managers, clients, and subject matter experts both technical and non-technical.
  • Bachelor’s degree in an Analytics/Informatics, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics or Financial Discipline preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Access, Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint (advanced knowledge in Excel a plus).
  • Ability for some travel (up to 25%).

The national average salary for this role is $130k - $160k in base pay and exclusive of any bonuses or benefits. The base pay offered will be determined based on your experience, skills, training, certifications and education, while also considering internal equity and market data.
