The Leader, Digital Data and Analytic Products, GBU IT is responsible for the data and analytics needs of the assigned GBU. In this role, the leader will be accountable to develop the portfolio and identify areas of opportunity to apply data and analytics to build differentiated value in the business, including revenue generating data products, strategic business insights and technology advancement in the AI/ML space. The position also responsible for all aspects of data-related activities specific to the assigned GBU, working with BU leadership and acting as a major partner to global data platrorm.
Your Team
This role will lead a data and analytics team globally and provide functional, technological and process expertise and mentorship on projects as part of the GBU IT organization. The team of data analytics professionals and product owners will identify, evaluate, develop, and design data products that meet user requirements. The leader is accountable for communicating and realizing the vision and strategy for the GBU organization that aligns with the business and customer needs.
What you'll be doing:
- Accountable for portfolio and product vision within the GBU IT group for data-related products and needs.
- Accountable for bringing the "art of the possible" to senior business leaders to identify new opportunities to apply data and analytics to solve the business's toughest problems and bring value from the largest opportunities.
- Interact with teams across the company to define strategy and implementation plans for data products, analytics and visualization
- Leads the strategic planning and technical roadmap development for data and analytics for the assigned GBU.
- Accountable for tactical execution of development programs spanning across the GBU's needs, coordinating development for the GBU across the portfolio.
- Responsible for the GBU IT data and analytics products budget.
- Establishes clear accountability, operational excellence and leadership for resource staffing and project execution with proactive management of technical and project risk to ensure delivery of business commitments.
- Develops a data culture in the organization with focus on design and architectural thinking to drive data quality and reliability goals demonstrating the culture levers of Speed, Simplicity, Collaboration and Courage.
- Adopt and embed agile ways of working in support of a fail-fast-learn-fast culture and enabling continual improvement.
- Develops a collaborative work environment with strong working relationships within and across the GBU and with strategic external partners.
- Maintain current knowledge of relevant Quality System Regulations and other regulatory and data privacy requirements to ensure compliance in all research, data collection and reporting activities.
- Demonstrate and applies extensive business knowledge in helping to identify solutions to align to the required business outcomes.
- Study, understand, and share external data and analytics trends and capabilities and how they can apply to the GBU's success in solving their problems and crafting new opportunities.
- A bachelor's degree in business or a related field such as technology, economics, computer science, data management, communication, marketing or statistics
- 10+ years of development experience with at least 5 years in functional management and people leadership roles in the data and analytics domain.
- Demonstrable experience working with business leadership in driving and defining functional and analytical data requirements for end-to-end solutioning as well as driving an implementation team through Agile methods.
- Significant experience in leading teams in data and analytics programs with experience in native digital technologies (cloud, big data and predictive) in organizations driving product development and commercialization of new products and services.
- Acts as a change agent for the teams and encouraged to own the transformation to a fail-fast-learn-fast culture enabling continual improvement.
- Able to optimally challenge and influence peers and teams, leading them through difficult or uncertain situations.
- Significant experience working in a global matrix environment.
- Strong team building and talent leadership skills, and the ability to empower team members to achieve goals
- Must be a strategic, innovative problem solver, and have strong influencing and interpersonal skills.
- Focus on outcomes that can be derived from the data as a starting point to crafting a solution and willingness to challenge the business on the right solution.
- Prior experiences in delivering data products that are consumed by external customers.
- Understanding of global regulatory requirements, design control requirements (FDA QS Regulation 21 CFR Part 820, ISO 13485), Risk management ISO 14971 and Cybersecurity requirements
- Solid grasp of business process flow and/or entity relationship modeling
- Demonstrated outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work optimally with other technology teams as well as business partners.
- Ability to optimally present information, interact with, and respond to questions from managers, employees, customers, and vendors
- Prior experiences with in-sourced and outsourced operating models.
We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all our employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. To that end, this position has a salary range of $168,000 to $252,000 and also includes an annual incentive bonus and equity target. The above range represents the expected salary range for this position. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in role, business line, and geographic/office location.
