THE JOB / Director, Digital Media Strategy

STRATEGY / Responsible for developing and implementing social media recommendations for our clients and generating marketing campaigns and measurement plans tailored to specific business objectives.

Are you an inventive creator of social media and marketing campaigns with measurable return on objectives? We’re seeking a Director of Digital Media Strategy to join our team. If you’re looking for a role that is part influencer ideation, part social strategy, part media planning – all under the sports sponsorship umbrella – this is it.

This person will work across clients to deliver digital & social media campaigns, using sports sponsorships to drive measurable results. You’ll join and manage an award-winning team that specializes in developing digital programs for brands & properties.

THE WORK YOU'LL DO

  • Craft and implement digital campaigns – including (but not limited to) social media (owned & paid), influencer & talent, media buying, media partnerships, audience targeting, and measurement strategies
  • Get briefed on brand and sponsor objectives and from there:
    • Recommend digital channels that make the most sense
    • Develop social content ideas that ladder up to the objectives
    • Outline how to amplify content to the target
  • Confidently pitch recommendations to clients & partners
  • Manage execution of campaigns – including talent procurement, content calendar development, and media partnership management
  • Oversee direct reports (2) and provide consistent feedback, coaching, and QA of their work
  • Measure campaigns and deliver inventive insights to clients on what is working and what can be optimized
  • Simultaneously manage multiple projects at once

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • 5-7 years of experience in digital/social media strategy, preferably at a media agency or working in a team environment
  • You have proficiency within:
    • Influencer marketing – discovering talent, contracting, content ideation, and program management
    • Social strategy – platform recommendations, content strategy, audience engagement tactics, social listening tools (for example, CreatorIQ, Infegy, Helixa)
    • Media buying – inclusive of media partnerships & activating paid media; analyzing rates, sending RFPs, reviewing proposals, stewarding campaigns, and offering optimizations
  • You’re able to uncover and strategically apply relevant audience and market trends that you uncover from social listening
  • A passion for and expertise in sports, entertainment, music and/or celebrity & lifestyle culture
  • A finger on the pulse of what’s trending in social & digital content – what’s resonating with fans, what platforms are growing, what content matters to fans
  • You can synthesize raw data to develop insights and concrete recommendations – you’re advanced in Excel, and can distill numbers down into an aesthetically pleasing PowerPoint
  • You’re organized – you know how to keep everything on task and manage timing expectations and communication of project tracking
  • You’re highly adaptive to changing client needs – sports is fast-paced and the ability to quickly and calmly pivot is critical
  • You are someone who is willing to explore and suggest emerging media platforms as an avenue for clients to consider as part of their digital efforts
  • You are an active contributor – you don’t just sit back and wait, you identify and grab opportunities and run them to the finish line

The base range for this position is $80,000 – 96,000. Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; market considerations; budgetary considerations; tenure, and standing with the company (applicable to current employees); as well as the employee’s/applicant’s background, pertinent experience, and qualifications
