Job Description:

Job Summary: Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer, the Director Diversity serves as the organizational resource for all diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging related matters, at all levels, for JPS Health Network. This position has the responsibility for guiding efforts to conceptualize, define, assess, nurture, and cultivate diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB). The Director Diversity establishes and implements strategies meant to encourage an inclusive, safe, and diverse workforce.

Duties and Essential Job Functions:

1. Provides strategic, integrated program direction and consultation to senior leadership on organizational issues regarding DEIB. 2. Researches, recommends, and helps execute creative strategies to foster JPS's DEIB goals that support the DEIB strategy, address business needs and drive business results. 3. Act as a change agent to execute DEIB initiatives and programs through strong relationships and partnerships across the company. 4. Incorporates DEIB activities and philosophy throughout the employee life-cycle, infusing DEIB into key HR functions including talent acquisition, talent management, learning and development, performance management, succession, employee engagement and retention, talent practices and policies, pay practices, and benefits.

5. Directs the daily activities of the organization's DEIB Program and leads in the development and implementation of strategic plans, policies, proposals, programs, and operating procedures. 6. Provides oversight and guidance to Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) through effective leadership, programming, and governance 7. Helps manage enterprise-wide DEI events through partnerships with ERGs, the business, marketing, and others. 8. Benchmarks and researches DEI best practices and metrics to monitor and evaluate DEI progress. 9. Develops and promotes Health Equity strategy and goals, ensuring equitable and inclusive organizational goals, diverse representation, community engagement, and culturally appropriate patient care. 10. Assess successes and opportunities through a regular cadence of meetings and reporting with key stakeholders and the Head of HR. 11. Works collaboratively with HR, marketing, and other colleagues to promote the DEIB brand to the community, customers, industry partners, and educational entities.

12. Reviews organizational policies and procedures for potential adverse impacts and suggests revisions that are meant to encourage inclusion and promote DEIB.

13. Serves as a liaison between the JPS Network and community organizations, business leaders, and agency leaders. Creates connections and partnerships between external entities and JPS resources.

14. Collaborates with Leadership Team and Physician Leaders to provide information, tools, resources, and expertise to address issues of health disproportionality and disparity.

15. Oversees the development and implementation of educational programs, training, and resources related to DEIB and offers support and knowledge.

16. Collaborates with and advises members of the executive team on issues and strategies related to DEIB.

17. Develops metrics for measuring the effectiveness of the corporate DEIB initiative implemented and prepares annual reports to senior management on organizational progress.

18. Keeps current on DEIB programs and developments by maintaining contact with others in the field (e.g., professional association and educational groups, and professional development efforts.)

19. Stays abreast of changes in regulatory and market conditions that may impact the organization's DEIB programs.

20. Leads and directs the work of other team members and has the responsibility for personnel actions including hiring and performance management.

21. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 8 plus years of diversity and inclusion leadership experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of DEIB best practices and cultural competence.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.)
  • Skill in communicating effectively with all levels of employees.
  • Persuasive communication skills and ability to influence others.
  • Ability to be able to meet and deal effectively with people.
  • Ability to be alert and able to concentrate on many different items.
  • Ability to establish and maintain a professional relationship with physicians, leaders, and other hospital staff.
  • Ability to work productively under stressful situations.
