ABOUT THE POSITION

The Director of (North America) Ecommerce is responsible for developing and overseeing the site operations for SOREL North America Ecommerce businesses. This position will lead and manage the implementation of site strategies and the comprehensive Ecommerce functions to drive revenue and increase the health and long-term growth of SOREL.com and SOREL.ca. The Director of Ecommerce is a critical piece of the long-term SOREL.com and SOREL.ca growth strategy and will have a seat at the table for making short and long-term decisions that have significant impact the SOREL brand and business.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Leads the creation and execution of consumer sales programs and strategies to generate online sell-through of SOREL footwear.
  • Provides leadership in the identification of specific and appropriate opportunities to grow the eCommerce business through the targeted use of analytics.
  • Influences cross-functional and cross-enterprise teams to develop and execute a comprehensive web strategy; defines the scope, business requirements, budget, KPIs, benefit analysis and cost justification for strategic projects to support business needs.
  • Develop and execute conversion rate optimization strategies that lead to improvement in key business metrics such as gross-margin, customer acquisition and retention, and sales productivity
  • Oversees Ecommerce marketing strategies and implements objectives to drive customer acquisition, sales, and retention.
  • Oversees Ecommerce Merchandising to ensure seasonal merchandising assortments are supported and promotional plans are optimized for maximum sale potential
  • Works with Corporate development teams to advocate, leverage, and recommend web tools and technologies that will enhance a seamless customer experience, driving an increasing rate of repeat visitors and conversion.
  • Develop and refine digital project roadmap, identifying short, medium, and long-term opportunities to improve and lead Ecommerce strategy.
  • Works in partnership with Brand Marketing to influence go-to-marketing strategies that ensure a cohesive brand experience.
  • Evaluates website performance, assesses results, and makes continuous improvements by examining web data and making recommendations to internal business partners to evolve site content and web tools to maximize effectiveness.
  • Identifies needs for new technologies and works with both the Director, Technology and Director, Product Owners to develop requirements through implementation.
  • Develops strong working relations with our third-party solution providers to collaborate and develop strategies that maximize return on investment.

YOU HAVE

  • 8+ years of progressive Ecommerce Operations/Merchandising/Marketing/Development and/or a combination of this experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with an apparel and/or footwear retail brand and/or retailer.
  • Footwear experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience in a leading role, owning and managing comprehensive site strategy and planning for day-to-day Ecommerce business operations.
  • Experience influencing senior leadership and quantifying results for consumption by various levels within the business.
  • Expert in Microsoft Excel and web analytics software.
  • Proven ability to work within and lead a high-performing team.
  • Current and working knowledge of eCommerce platforms and processes.
  • Strong analytical and financial skills.
  • Strong market awareness across Ecommerce and wholesale businesses.
  • Knowledge of the footwear industry, retail dynamics, and consumer buying patterns.
