Director, eCommerce Marketplaces (Amazon)

Job Summary:Â
The Director of eCommerce Marketplaces will lead iHerb’s marketplace strategy and operations. Reporting to the VP, Marketing & eCommerce, this role will lead a team to grow iHerb’s US marketplace business, and play a highly collaborative role on international marketplace strategy & operations. This role will also work cross-functionally to drive special projects and new business opportunities that take advantage of iHerb’s marketplace operations capabilities.
Job Expectations:Â
- Lead a team of marketplace managers and specialists to drive sales growth on domestic marketplace platforms, while building and expanding iHerb’s marketplace operations capabilities.
- Lead cross-functional projects and initiatives across operations, logistics, product, customer experience and IT to meet and exceed marketplace SLAs.
- Work with cross-functional stakeholders across Fulfillment, Merchandising, Inventory Planning, Growth Marketing, Creative Production and Finance to support the channel’s growth and build sustainable and scalable processes.
- In partnership with the Director, iHerb brands, develop and execute a marketplace growth strategy to meet and exceed forecasted iHerb brand sales targets.
- Support iHerb brands team in managing and updating creative assets and product messaging across all marketplaces.
- Partner with the merchandising team to manage and communicate iHerb’s marketplace capabilities to brand partners.
- Build a pipeline of new global marketplace integrations, and manage integrations from inception through to activation.
- Act as a thought leader internally on development of future services in the marketplace space, especially as a marketplace order fulfillment provider in the health & wellness category.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Deep knowledge of Amazon, Walmart, eBay and other domestic and global marketplaces, including end-to-end operations.
- In-depth knowledge of marketplace management platforms and partners, preferably Channeladvisor.
- Advanced knowledge of marketplace marketing platforms, strategies, and tactics.
- Obsessive attention to detail and conscientiousness.
- Self-starter with experience managing projects from inception to completion
- Strong interpersonal skills, discretion, diplomacy, and judgment.
- Strong teamwork ethic, positive proactive flexible attitude, and ability to take complete ownership of responsibilities.
Equipment Knowledge:Â
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience with Google Business Suite (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms) preferred
- High aptitude and ability to make efficient use of online productivity and communication tools, in our case with the Google Workspace suite and Asana.
- Experience with marketplace management platforms, especially Channeladvisor.
Experience Requirements:
Generally requires a minimum of 6+ years of experience in marketplace management.
Education Requirements:Â
Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field preferred, or a combination of education and equivalent work experience is required.
