Role Summary:
Grubhub is looking for a Chicago or New York City based director and head of employee communications. This is a highly collaborative and visible position, and you will lead the strategy, development and implementation of employee-focused communications. The person in this role will report to the SVP of communications and government relations and be a key member of the communications team with the charge of bringing our culture to life as an internal advocate.
The Impact You Will Make:

• Set the strategic direction for employee communications and be responsible for managing all content and distribution channels for employee communications.
• Play a leadership role in building stronger connections between the company and our employees, developing contemporary and creative ways to establish and maintain meaningful two-way dialogue with employees.
• Oversee the development of an employee communications editorial calendar, based on a strategic messaging architecture, that will result in more consistent and connected communications that resonate with Grubhub employees.
• Manage Grubhub's executive communications, including internal and external copywriting for CEO of Grubhub / EVP of North America for Just Eat Takeaway.com.
• Provide leadership counsel and writing and event support for Grubhub's executive leadership team.
• Advance leadership communication strategies and develop programming to keep top leaders aligned, managers passionately engaged and employees inspired and empowered.
• Oversee the strategy for and execution of key events and tactics, town halls, newsletters, intranet site and more as the Internal Communications function expands.
• In partnership with the People team and executive leadership team, drive strategies based on engagement survey results, identified trends and recommendations to improve and maintain high employee engagement.
• Manage an employee communications senior associate and external consultant to collaborate on a holistic strategy and cadence for employee engagement.
• Track and measure progress in employee engagement with execution against tangible KPIs. Develop plans to ensure ongoing content and channel optimization.

What You Bring to the Table

• Bachelor's degree required
• 10+ years of work experience with 5+ years of people management experience.
• Strong writing and editing skills with experience drafting executive communications.
• Proven track record developing and delivering innovative internal communications strategies with a focus on optimizing employee experience.
• Demonstrated experience, energy, and passion for storytelling.
• Excellent presentation skills and experience with C-suite executives.
• Ability to collaborate across teams and varying priorities to maintain alignment on vision, strategy, and performance to goals.
• Skilled, agile project leader, able to simplify complexity and orchestrate delivery on time.
• On top of the latest trends and technologies and knows how to translate ideas into action across channels, content, measurement, and events.

NYC Salary Range: $170k - $220k
The Base Pay component of our Total Rewards package is based on a variety of factors including but not limited to: job responsibilities, location, experience and, education/certifications. In addition to the pay component, this role may be eligible for equity and benefits as part of the Total Rewards package. The Total Rewards package will be determined at the time a contingent offer is made.
