About the role: The Director, Encompass Commercial Development, will strategically define and execute new business opportunities to drive growth in the Encompass business unit. This includes external product definition, initial opportunity sizing, partner business development, and collateral creation in support of the VP of Encompass Commercial.
What you’ll do:Â
- Collaborate with strategic partners across the business, including other Business Units and Shared Services, to define new commercial offerings and bring to market (e.g., MedSupp).
- Lead strategic initiatives, including opportunity identification of other lines of business for beneficiaries, in external facing roles.
- Develop business with partners through leading ideation, contracting, negotiation, and operationalization sessions.
- Evaluate business cases on financial and operational criteria to effectively prioritize.
- Collaborate in decision making with strategic partners to interpret impact of reported metrics and identify actions for improving financial health of Encompass business unit.
- Support Commercial team leadership in team development, strategic insight development, and other responsibilities as assigned.
- Investigate trends, industry standards, and best practices in commercial development, and create recommendations.
- Construct leadership facing proposals for creating ways to grow business.
What we’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or relevant field; MBA, or other relevant graduate degree preferred.
- Minimum eight (8) years’ experience in relevant functional areas, including business development, commercial contracting, growth strategy, and/or go-to-market.
- Minimum four (4) years’ experience in healthcare-specific industry areas, such as payer business development, digital health growth strategy, and/or health insurance brokerage operations.
- Excellent organizational and verbal/written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build trust-based relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders, both internal and external.
- Demonstrated ability to autonomously operate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; high internal motor and able to act with a high level of independence.
- Demonstrated interest and understanding of the broader healthcare industry with emerging knowledge spike in Medicare market and / or Insurance Brokerage.
- Ability to build and lead teams to outperform / exceed expectations.
- Deeply inquisitive with creative problem-solving skills that can be applied to complex problems.
- Highly attentive to detail with proven track record working in a highly matrixed cross-functional environment.
- Superior relationship management and negotiation skills.
- High quality written and oral communication skills, and ability to influence business decisions with strong executive presence.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data and processes to assess customer impact and drive creative solutions.
- Robust analytical toolkit and mindset with ability to translate insights into action (including proven financial modeling capabilities).
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel) with the ability to communicate effectively through those tools.
Location: Hybrid, Chicago IL (3 days Onsite)
