What you'll do:
You will lead an engineering team that is responsible for building, deploying and supporting Credit Karma's analytical data platform. Your stakeholders are across all Credit Karma verticals and business units, including product engineers as data providers, individual analysts who conduct analyses to support product decisions, data scientists and ML engineers that build machine learning models to enable personalization. The role requires to develop positive partnership and collaborations with many cross-functional teams, understand their data needs, and then grow the data platform features to streamline their experience from data onboarding, consuming, to metadata management.
Minimum Basic Requirement:
- 15+ years of professional experience with 7+ years of management experience
- Has managed managers and led a 15+ people team; Experience in developing and mentoring people managers and leaders;
- Strong leadership skills and has remained technical
- Strong skills in planning and running complex initiatives and goals
- Experience with building large scale data platform
- Experience with data architecture, ETL, data pipelines, streaming technologies
- Experience with BI, data warehousing, and machine learning technologies
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field (equivalent job experience is acceptable as well)
- Managed teams with massive scalability, reliability and data quality requirements
- Familiar with Google Cloud platform
Must have Tech Skills:
- Solid experience with data engineering, architecture on big data platforms as well as sound software engineering principles
- Programming experience in Java, C/C++, or Scala
