PURPOSE STATEMENT

We are looking for a Director, Engineering Technologies who is passionate about discovering, developing and implementing complex, scalable technical solutions across different product categories, exceeding our customers' expectations. You will lead Rich's engineering technology program to define and develop advanced operational controls solutions, robotics and packaging automation technologies from definition through operational implementation to transform and drive breakthrough productivity across the enterprise. You will own a portfolio of projects following a disciplined engineering approach from definition to vertical start up, including technology identification and validation, machine reliability analysis, new line design and modifications of existing assets, and develop robust technical solutions to address a range of complex manufacturing issues. You will also identify new breakthrough technologies and solutions that will bring our business categories to the future. You will look at ways to maximize efficiency and yields, optimize manufacturing costs, as well own capital project management, equipment evaluation, operation performance improvement, start-up and new process/product validation processes.

The role will directly interface with Manufacturing Directors, VP of Engineering, R&D partners, Business leaders and other technical functions.

The Director of Scaled Technologies will lead engineering activities across our network of plants.

This is a remote position for candidates within continental U.S., which will require up to 40% domestic and international travel.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/OUTCOMES• Lead the discovery, development, qualification, and successful operational implementation of advanced manufacturing automation technologies including robotics, packaging, AI and advanced vision systems that addresses fundamental productivity constraints in our network. • Develop a comprehensive and cohesive long-term automation strategy that incorporates technology masterplans, organizational capability development and considering current and future product / packaging business opportunities.• Lead the justification, establishment, and implementation of capital projects from inception through completion. Initiates concepts, develops designs incorporating the optimal technical solutions, estimates and manages costs, formulates justifications, coordinates installations, troubleshoots startups, and establish systems to train required plant personnel on new equipment / technologies. • Closely collaborate with R&D Process / Packaging, Quality Assurance, Safety, Manufacturing and Business Unit Teams among other functions on the definition of technology solutions and standardization opportunities across all our product categories.• Lead standard engineering work process and champions the best engineering practices for improved performance. Analyze with Manufacturing teams and other functions the performance impacts of new equipment or equipment modifications across current operations.• Deep understanding of machine and line process controls architecture and components, including advanced machine controls, AI and vision systems integration for a reliable operation.• Participate in business category, R&D and Engineering project reviews as required. Communicate and inform operational and business leaders of related work through scheduling, plant and business / operational meetings.• Demonstrate thorough knowledge of capital project procedures and follow Rich's capital management processes and guidelines.• Search and reapply: Lead technology discovery efforts across the industry and develop viable technology solutions adapted to our manufacturing processes. Represents the company's position and interests effectively in dealing with outside contractors, vendors, engineering consultants and professional associations, with a positive attitude across the organization and working teams. • Assist other department's efforts to provide technical training and guidance to improve operations.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Required:• A BS degree in engineering with 15+ years of experience in the Food, Beverage, Fast Consumer Packaged Goods and/or similar industries.• Mechanical / Electrical / Automation Engineering degrees, or similar technical fields considered.• Demonstrated experience in leading the selection, design, specification, and implementation of new production automation platforms, including modification of existing manufacturing assets. Lead front end engineering activities, and projects across a complex network of plants.• Strong analytical and communication skills. Ability to draw sound technical conclusions based on limited data, including ability to write concise technical reports of findings and compelling technical platform recommendations of innovative designs that improve operation operational margins and production throughput.• Demonstrate sound business acumen to drive comprehensive and compelling business propositions, including strong communication skills across all organizational levels and diverse cultural environments. • Successful experience in leading and influencing multi-functional teams in the achievement of complex business objectives and global technology platforms' evolution.• Proven capital investment leadership experience with clear impact on the company's top & bottom-line business metrics. • Demonstrated ability to follow advanced technical and reliability engineering tools to assess technical risks, predictive analytics (FMEA, Statistical Process Analysis, etc.) and TPM readiness processes and tools to deliver Vertical Start Ups on complex technology at plant level.• Proven experience in leading the implementation of advanced robotics platforms, packaging automation, machine, line controls technologies in a manufacturing environment. Hands on experience in defining and implementing Factory 4.0 technologies and architectures. • Experience leading a team of Engineers both central and at plants in these technologies.

Preferred:• Master of Business Administration or similar advanced business degree will be preferred. • Direct experience with refrigeration and plant utilities systems including water treatment.• Experience in Total Productive Manufacturing (TPM) and Continuous Improvement (CI) methodologies through innovative designs, driving cost savings and process optimization.• Knowledge of Reliability Engineering (RE) tools & process improvement methodologies• Experience working in international / global markets would be preferred.• Experience on the design and implementation of new greenfield manufacturing plants

COMPENSATION

In accordance with state law, the rate or range provided is Rich Products Corporation, its subsidiaries and affiliates ("Rich's"), reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may be higher or lower, based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, shift differential, and location.

Annual Range/Hourly Rate

$154,560.00 - $257,750.00
