ABOUT THE ROLE

The ESG Disclosure and Reporting lead will sit within the Nuveen Real Estate Responsible Investing team, which is responsible for advising the business on an ESG integration strategy responsive to climate risk and trends related to sustainability and society. ESG disclosure and reporting is a critical function of a successful centralized ESG team delivering on investor expectations for performance transparency. This role requires a highly organized individual with proficient abilities to manage fast-paced projects, and strong communication skills to work collaborative across business units. Key collaborators include the Head of Sustainability for the Americas, ESG Data team, Client Services team, RFP team, and Nuveen Responsible Investing team.

Future development and expansion of the role may include:• Coordinating across multiple asset classes (Real Estate, Natural Capital, Infrastructure) to ensure consistent systems and processes in place for data gathering and analysis and that outputs are fit for purpose for meeting external client reporting needs and meeting internal analysis needs.• Setting out best practice standards in ESG data management and reporting and work with colleagues to achieve these standards globally. This includes alignment across different ESG teams to ensure the Real Assets inputs, models, and outputs are documented and well understood.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Manage and deliver critical ESG disclosure reports, including those within broader financial reports to investors, on a regular cadence.
  • Manage and deliver responses to ongoing investor due diligence questionnaires and periodic disclosure requests.
  • Coordinate across the ESG team and business units to collect qualitative and quantitative data to feed into disclosure reporting, including SFDR, GRESB, PRI, the annual ESG report, and other reports as needed.
  • Extract data to embed into various reporting mechanisms and apply a critical lens to quality-check data prior to distribution.
  • Work closely with the ESG Data Associate to evaluate the relevance of ESG KPIs and ensure appropriately captured in data governance systems and platforms.
  • Key legal and compliance and investment product interface, influencing decision-making and ensuring disclosure standards and consistency across the firm.
  • Prepare responses to periodic internal and external auditing that evaluate the processes and implementation approach within the ESG program.
  • Inform strategy for aligning disclosure reports with industry frameworks, such as TCFD, INREV.
  • Potential to manage vendor relationships related to framework alignment or assurance services.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of relevant ESG reporting and disclosure experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of relevant ESG reporting and disclosure experience
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field
  • Master's preferred
  • Advanced project management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Ability to demonstrate quantitative analysis skills and experience with data management a major plus
  • A working knowledge of voluntary ESG frameworks and benchmarks such as TCFD, PRI, GRESB, etc.
  • Understanding of commercial real estate fundamentals and terminology is a plus

Base Pay Range: $112,500/yr. - $187,500/yr.

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
