Your Role:

The Director of Training will be accountable for developing the training strategy and execution plan needed to support commercial field personnel to thrive and drive in a fast-evolving US healthcare ecosystem.  This includes sales team readiness and leadership development.  

The Director will design and launch the oncology field training program at SpringWorks Therapeutics to support both brands and the leadership team. They will work closely with Leadership Teams to understand business objectives and ensure field performance by designing and deploying innovative and cutting-edge learning & development (L&D) solutions. 

The Director will work alongside all HQ support functions, collaborate with Data Analytics & Insights and Operations teammates to ensure the training platform stays relevant and effective over time; and serve as the go-to in-house trainer for Commercial Field Teams.  Also, the Director will coach and develop internal/external training support to ensure that they create learning and development solutions that our people find valuable because they help elevate their skills and drive results, as well as make them feel connected to our mission, business, and the customers we serve. 

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Develops L&D objectives by working closely with the brand team to understand brand plans/goals and with the field leadership team to understand customer engagement and field operations model and performance targets. 
  • Designs and delivers a first-class multimodal (e.g., virtual, asynchronous, live, self-directed) L&D program/schedule for oncology field representatives.  
  • Sources external training partners and manages vendors and associated operating expense as needed. 
  • Works with IT, HR, and Commercial business partners to design and deploy L&D solutions using emerging and innovative technology. 
  • Delivers impactful experiential workshops during National Launch/POA and other strategic commercial meetings. 
  • Spends periodic time in the field auditing effectiveness of training programs and works with business leaders and people managers to evaluate and improve programs 
  • Design and deploy tailored onboarding, field training plans and leadership development curriculum.  
  • Performs other duties related to securing field force effectiveness at the direction of the Head of Commercial Operations 

Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences 
  • Advanced degree (PharmD, RN, NP) preferred.
  • 9+ years of experience in a commercial function of high-performing biopharmaceutical organization 
  • 5 years of experience in oncology, neurology and/or rare disease 
  • 3-5 years of experience in designing highly effective leadership and development programs for field-based employees  
  • 3-5 years of experience in developing learning curriculums for new product launch, including training workshops for POA and other strategic commercial meetings
  • Expert level knowledge and experience of the end-to-end learning process, i.e., learning needs assessment, program design and delivery, and learning evaluation and assessment. 
  • Expert level ability to interpret customer needs and translate market insights into effective, cohesive program of work tailored for field representatives across sales, market access, and marketing. 
  • Strong clinical background with ability to translate clinical data into understandable learning material. 
  • Strong foundation in virtual engagement platforms (e.g. Zoom, MS Teams, WebEx & Adobe Connect 
  • Understands and is passionate about how to develop, coach and build a strong team culture. 
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to work across Sales, Marketing, Market Access, and Medical Teams to create a culture of alignment and teaming. 
  • Excellent live presentation skills

  • Ability to work and communicate effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented organization.

Compensation:

The expected salary range for this position is $225,000 – $250,000. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.
