Director, Finance
Job Description
As Finance Director, you will be responsible for performing financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting and analysis functions integral to supporting the business operations of Ceremony of Roses, Sony Music’s merchandising division. You will be uniquely positioned to collaborate with Ceremony or Roses operational teams as well as Sony Music’s label teams to deliver best in class product and services to our artists.
What you'll do:- Develop and maintain reporting packages including periodic artist/label P&Ls for the business unit.
- Analysis of the full Sony Music Merchandising P&L and balance sheet with a focus on revenue, cost of sales, royalty expense, operational expense and balance sheet analysis.
- Manage and develop junior finance staff
- Partner with Label Finance, Release Planning, the Royalties group, Global Finance and other operational and shared services teams to ensure proper communication channels exist.
- Provide Deal Analysis support.
- Develop a keen understanding of Ceremony of Roses Retail, Tour, Licensing, and other revenue streams for operational support and continuous development of best practices.
- You hold a bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA or working toward certification is a plus.
- You have a minimum 7-10 years of business experience in accounting or financial analysis (merchandise/ entertainment / music industry experience a plus, with an interest in music being ideal) and working knowledge of GAAP. Public accounting or financial reporting experience preferred.
- You have experience with SAP, are highly skilled in MS Excel and have a solid proficiency in other MS applications.
- You possess excellent analytical, verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. First-rate presentation skills, with an ability to present the data to management, including speaking to the trends and major drivers of the activity.

The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $120,000 to $150,000. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
