Director, Finance

As Finance Director, you will be responsible for performing financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting and analysis functions integral to supporting the business operations of Ceremony of Roses, Sony Music’s merchandising division. You will be uniquely positioned to collaborate with Ceremony or Roses operational teams as well as Sony Music’s label teams to deliver best in class product and services to our artists. 

What you'll do:

• Develop and maintain reporting packages including periodic artist/label P&Ls for the business unit.
• Analysis of the full Sony Music Merchandising P&L and balance sheet with a focus on revenue, cost of sales, royalty expense, operational expense and balance sheet analysis.
• Mentor, manage and develop 3 junior finance staff
• Partner with Label Finance, Release Planning, the Royalties group, Global Finance and other operational and shared services teams to ensure proper communication channels exist.
• Provide Deal Analysis support.
• Develop a keen understanding of Ceremony of Roses Retail, Tour, Licensing, and other revenue streams for operational support and continuous development of best practices.
• Implement processes and procedures
• You will have access and exposure to all aspects of Sony’s business and working cross-functionally

Who you are:

• You hold a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or working toward certification is a nice to have.
• You have a minimum 7-10 years of business experience in accounting or financial analysis (merchandise/retail background is strongly preferred;  entertainment / music industry experience a plus, with an interest in music being ideal) and working knowledge of GAAP. Public accounting or financial reporting experience preferred.
• You enjoy and have experience managing and mentoring a team; you are a natural leader.
• You are comfortable with ambiguity and are excited to come in and learn while making an impact. 
• You are a self-starter and enjoy being strategic.
• You have experience with SAP or a similar tool, are highly skilled in MS Excel and have a solid proficiency in other MS applications.
• You possess excellent analytical, verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. First-rate presentation skills, with an ability to present the data to management, including speaking to the trends and major drivers of the activity.
• You are a well-organized, detail-oriented and proactive team player with ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects and priorities, meet deadlines, and achieve effective results in a fast-paced team-oriented environment.

The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $120,000 to $150,000. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
