Position Summary:

Responsible for the daily operations of accounting, finance and decision support functions. Effectively uses available resources to address financial issues towards the continued success of the organization. Maintains a system of internal control and ensures the accuracy and availability of accounting records. Builds and supports an effective team to execute the necessary financial operations in support of the organizations goals and objectives. The Director of Finance contributes to the overall success of the organization by effectively managing all financial tasks for the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Arts/Sciences in Accounting/Finance
  • 7 to 10 years of related healthcare finance experience and/or training or combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Current CPA license.
  • Five years or more of experience in public accounting.
  • Fund or not-for-profit accounting experience preferred.
  • Managed care experience.
  • Statutory reporting experience.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
2. Develop, implement, and ensure compliance with internal financial and accounting policies and procedures
3. Develop and maintain timely and accurate financial statements and reports that are appropriate for the users and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
4. Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
5. Ensure that all statutory financial requirements of the organization are met.
6. Monitors and confirms financial condition by conducting audits; providing information to external auditors.
7. Document and maintain complete and accurate supporting information for all financial transactions.
8. Develop and maintain financial accounting systems for cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, and petty cash.
9. Review monthly results and implement monthly variance reporting
10. Manage the cash flow in accordance with policy
11. Prepare all supporting information for the annual audit and liaise with the Board's Audit Committee and the external auditors as necessary.
12. Oversee the bookkeeping function including maintenance of the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and fixed assets.
13. Maximizes return, and limits risk, on cash by minimizing bank balances; making investments.
14. Establish guidelines for budget and forecast preparation, and prepare the annual budget in consultation with Executive Management.
15. Achieves budget objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
16. Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data.
17. Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
18. Prepare financial reports in compliance with contract and license requirements.
19. Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing financial reports; advising management on needed actions.
20. Completes operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
21. Maintains financial staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
22. Maintains financial staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
23. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks.
24. Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

  • Ability to communicate financial information to all levels of the organization
  • Must be a strategic thinker with excellent financial and business analytical skill
  • Ability to express information and concepts with conciseness and clarity when writing and speaking
  • Advanced Excel skills are required


WORK SCHEDULE:

As a continued effort to provide a safe and productive work environment, Community Care Plan is currently following a hybrid work schedule. Staff are able to work from home 3 days a week and will report to the office 2 days a week. *****The company reserves the right to change the work schedules based on the company needs.
