Director, Finance EPMO
Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Discovery: lead discovery discussions with project submitters with a focus to define alignment with enterprise strategic priorities, value proposition, funding expectations, interdependencies/resource constraints. Make informed go/no-go and prioritization decisions, document, communicate, and execute next steps effectively and efficiently. Coordinate with stakeholders and project intake team as needed
- Capital Committee (CapCom) inform: ensure the committee is informed and aligned to projects, direct further discussions and vetting as needed
- Detailed Scoping: ensure project scoping team considers enterprise-wide impacts, meets service level agreements, and sets expectations accordingly. Oversee EPMO executive summary creation and business case preparation including ROI calculations.
- Approval: direct the monthly calendar including project submission deadlines, Tech Sub Committee (TSC) and CapCom meetings, pre-meetings, agendas, projects for approval, meeting materials, and meeting minutes. Ensure all cross-functional stakeholders are aligned prior to approval meetings. Maintain and ensure effectiveness of governance and project approval matrix.
- Execute: direct the creation and communication of new projects, coordinate with Fixed Assets and other stakeholders to ensure smooth transition
- Review: evaluate results of project investments, including ROI and key metric results, utilize learnings to update process and guide future decisions
- Direct brand and department leadership meetings monthly with a purpose to ensure alignment with brands/departments, support strategic priorities, drive communication, discuss upcoming and inflight projects. Continuously evaluate materials and content to ensure they provide value.
- Direct continuous tracking of central funds usage, balances, risks; use to inform prioritization and decision making.
- Direct monthly capex / CCA reporting and management reporting, including variance analysis and explanations.
- Direct the quarterly capex / CCA project and cashflow forecast process, including developing calendar in conjunction with Corporate FP&A, reviewing and consolidating strategic category forecasts from category EPMO owners (including owned development). Work with Treasury team to support cash forecasting.
- Direct the annual capex / CCA project and cashflow budget process, including developing calendar in conjunction with Corporate FP&A, reviewing and consolidating strategic category budgets from category EPMO owners (including owned development), carryover from IT, and central funds.
- Direct the capex / CCA project and cashflow LRP process as needed.
- Support brand leadership and finance teams with tools, approaches, and analysis for significant projects including potential areas such as:
- Prepare accurate and appropriate financial models to project returns on anticipated capital expenditures.
- Prepare various "ad-hoc" analyses as requested by management.
- Ensure the accuracy of all information and confirm that outputs meet our very high standards.
- Manage the work, performance, and development of one Financial Analyst.
EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS:
- Required: 4 Year degree in finance, economics, strategy, or a related field
- Required: Masters Business Administration (MBA)
EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION:
- Required: 10+ years of relevant work experience including consulting, business strategy, project management, financial / project analysis and/or FP&A experience
- Strongly preferred: Prior project management, strategic planning, consulting
- Preferred: Restaurant/retail experience
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, or ABILITIES:
- Strong track record as a proven leader, and ability to work cross-functionally and influence.
- Excellent executive presence with outstanding analytical and communication skills.
- Strong finance, project/capital assessment, technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Proven ability to manage teams with competing priorities, often with considerable time constraints.
- Preferred: Experience with Oracle ERP, PPM, and EPBCS.
- Preferred: Experience with Tableau and SharePoint.
