Director, Financial Operations

The Director, Financial Operations will have responsibility for all Accounting-related activities and oversight of the Accounting team (AP, AR, Cost, Payroll) reporting directly to the Corporate Controller. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing cost accounting and both public and private accounting experience.

Day to day activities

• Lead and manage the AP, AR, Cost & Payroll teams, including hiring, training, and professional development.
• Manage the monthly and quarterly financial close, ensuring timely and accurate reporting to investors in accordance with IFRS.
• Lead and manage annual valuations, audit and tax compliance.
• Implement accounting and reporting procedures to ensure soundness, timeliness, and accuracy of all financial and management information. Ensure proper controls are in place. Approve all changes to established procedures, systems and routines.
• Maintain appropriate business relationships with the company's auditors, external consultants and insurers.
• Collaborate with IT, Operations and FP&A team to enhance accounting systems in support of business objectives.

Desired skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in financial operations.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in public accounting.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in managing teams of accounting professionals.
• Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with business leaders, Finance leaders, and external consultants.
• Highly adaptable and flexible.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
