What's happening at Entrada Therapeutics? Our mission is to transform the treatment of devastating diseases by establishing a new class of medicines to engage intracellular targets that have long been considered inaccessible and undruggable.

Our Endosomal Escape Vehicle (EEV™)-therapeutics represent a fundamental advancement in the field of intracellular therapeutics. They are designed to enable the efficient intracellular delivery of a wide range of therapeutics into a variety of organs and tissues, resulting in an improved therapeutic index. Through our EEV platform, we are building a diverse pipeline of RNA-, antibody- and enzyme-based programs for the potential treatment of neuromuscular, immunological, ocular and metabolic diseases, among others. 

Our lead oligonucleotide programs include ENTR-601-44 and ENTR-601-45 for the potential treatment of people living with Duchenne who are exon 44 and 45 skipping amenable, respectively, as well as our partnered candidate ENTR-701 targeting myotonic dystrophy type 1 (DM1).

Entrada is in search of a Director, FP&A who is interested in joining a highly dynamic and intellectually challenging team. Our FP&A team is a key business partner throughout the organization and responsible for budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, scenario planning and management reporting. The Opportunity

The Director of FP&A will report to the Executive Director of FP&A and be a leader within the R&D FP&A space. This role will be a direct business partner to the R&D organization (Research and Development & Clinical), developing robust financial reporting and preparing thorough analyses of the Entrada business in order to better support the Company’s strategic priorities. Additionally, this role will be a superuser of our FP&A systems and an excel modeling expert to provide support for the budget/forecasting process.

Responsibilities

R&D Finance Business Partner

  • Partner with R&D department leads and planners to build an in depth understanding of the business, bridge to financial drivers and support financial decision making for R&D teams
  • Develop annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and monthly estimates in order to help them deliver on their short and long term goals
  • Prepare & analyze financial management reports, meet with business partners providing operational reviews, and discuss risks & opportunities to their forecasts
  • Formulate a cohesive and concise story around business drivers behind financial data and identify potential risks and opportunities
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis to business partners and influence best decision making through financial data and analytics
  • Approve expenditures in line with budget/forecast, validate proper coding on requisitions, and escalate issues as required

R&D Financial Planning and Analysis

  • Drive the overall R&D budgeting/forecasting, including communication of timelines and expectations, template creation and data loading, reporting summarized financials
  • Lead Vertex Collaboration quarterly forecast reviews summarizing drivers of variances to latest forecasts and required changes to forecasts
  • Support updates to financial models supporting the company long range plans and various strategic scenario plans
  • Manage reporting of Cash and GAAP forecasting and comparisons to actuals
  • Lead monthly close process, including accruals, CFO update deck, as needed for R&D departments
  • Prepare financial slides for leadership, audit committees, and board meetings
  • Seek opportunities for process improvements, proactively propose solutions for operational efficiencies, and lead/drive projects to completion
  • Be a superuser of the FP&A application, Planful, for data validation, financial modeling, variance analysis, and reporting

To thrive on our team, you will need to come with:

  • Bachelor’s degree Finance/Accounting/Economics, advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum 8+ years of progressive financial analysis experience, including biotech or pharma experience and public company reporting
  • Relevant day to day experience supporting R&D business areas demonstrating an understanding of the Discovery, Clinical, and CMC functions
  • Financial statement knowledge and understanding of US GAAP
  • Strong business partnering skills that engages in a collaborative way
  • Track record of innovation, process improvement, and problem solving
  • Detail oriented individual with the ability to identify the “big picture”
  • Ability to work independently in a detailed and organized manner while managing complexity and multi-tasking
  • Strong presentation and communication skills with the ability to clearly and succinctly articulate thoughts and complex matters
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and integrate multiple points of view to make informed decisions
  • Excellent project management skills and an ability to embrace change and multi-task in an extremely fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines
  • Excellent communications skills and ability to influence across multiple functions
  • Advanced level user in MS office, particularly Excel and Power Point, and financial systems, including Planful, NetSuite and similar systems
  • Experience with the design, development and optimization of financial forecasting systems and ERP-driven data with budgeting and forecasting
