The Director, Financial Planning and Analysis drives Beautycounter’s financial strategy and provides leadership to achieve its financial goals through planning, measuring, analyzing, and improving its business performance.
This role drives financial success for the company and business units through assessment of strategic and business initiatives. Key responsibilities include identifying strategic investment and partnership opportunities, developing data-driven insights and recommendations, creating, and driving execution of business plans, and drafting & communicating presentations and business cases. This is a very visible position with direct line of sight to the CEO, board of directors and other senior executives. The position reports to the VP of Finance/Accounting and has significant impact on the company’s performance and strategy.
Key responsibilities including leading a dedicated team and collaborate with Beautycounter’s commercial, analytics and accounting team to drive all aspects of planning and performance management. The role is responsible for all areas of financial planning & analysis, which includes developing financial and business plans, partnering with business leaders across the company, driving analyses for business & strategic issues and serving as the steward for financial P&L.
Essential Job FunctionsÂ
Driving analyses for business and strategic issues
- Partners with leadership team and executives as a trusted advisor to continually define and drive Beautycounter’s In-year and long-term financial strategy
- Lead financial performance monitoring and improvement plans (weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual company financial performance reporting and analysis)
- Execute the process to continuously update financial pacing to assess the momentum of the business against forecast and against plan
- Collaborate with analytics and commercial teams to collect input for forecast and to understand the drivers of the forecast
- Identify and implement performance improvement initiatives throughout the company
Developing Financial and Business plans
- Oversee financial analysis for strategic and business decisions with regards to new business models, strategic partnership agreements, etc.
- Manage the cash flow forecast models with partnership with the analytics/sales forecasting team, accounting/AP and operations team
- Helps company achieve budget objectives by performing analytical reviews of the monthly operating results to ensure the reasonability and accuracy of reports
Identifying Strategic Investment and Partnership Opportunities
- Collaborates and supports strategy and finance projects including strategic investments, financing activities, and other ad-hoc projects.
- Maintain and communicate business risks/opportunities for Beautycounter.
- Provide key decision support for senior executives across all functional areas
Required QualificationsÂ
- BS degree in finance or business and technical related field with excellent academic record.
- 12+ years of progressive roles in finance, strategic planning, investment banking, private equity, management consulting or equivalent experience.
- 4+ years of successful experience in leading a finance or business planning function.
Preferred Qualifications Â
- Advanced interpersonal and written communication skills to effectively develop relationships with stakeholders and work with senior management.
- Demonstrated strong leadership performance in prior management roles, with increasing levels of responsibility and team coaching & development.
- Track record of leading and collaborating cross-functionally to gain buy-in, support, and assistance from key stakeholders and organizations.
- Proven distinctive problem solving and strategic thought leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to roll-up sleeves and work with team members in a hands-on management capacity. Knowledge of ecommerce, digital marketing and internet platform technology sectors preferable.

Pay: The salary range listed below is for work locations in the United States, with individual pay determined by several factors including, but not limited to, job-related skills, experience, education, and training. Salary ranges are determined in good faith by role, level, and location. As a remote-eligible job, salary ranges for specific locations will be provided upon request. #
Salary Range
$140,000—$175,000 USD
Bonus: Additional compensation includes an annual discretionary bonus based on company and individual performance.
