Job Summary:

Manage and lead the FP&A function for NRG Business, which includes C&I, small commercial, Curtailment Services and, Distributed Energy Services businesses for the power and gas customers within NRG. The FP&A Director will help support and work closely with the commercial and corporate teams to complete the annual budgeting, monthly forecasting and review the business performance with the SVP of the business and executive management. Under minimal supervision, the Director is expected to partner with the business to create, consolidate, compile, and analyze monthly financials and reporting performance packages. The position will also lead and manage a team of experienced professionals.

Key Responsibilities :
  • Possess/Develop an in-depth understanding of the business models and the varying complexities associated with the market revenues and costs, including timing of periodic cash flows
  • Create, consolidate, compile, and analyze monthly financials and performance reporting packages
  • Investigate anomalies and monthly variances while working with the various business groups and functional support to seek solutions to resolve issues
  • Manage the reporting and analysis for the business to consolidate within the Corporate FP&A guidelines
  • Provide regular and ad-hoc project support, and deliver financial insight, analysis, and recommendations to business teams and leaders
  • Develops and foster relationships with various departments within NRG while continually seeking opportunities to improve processes
  • Manage and develop a team of managers and analysts that are in multiple locations
  • Monitor and lead the team to create look back analysis of all approved capital expenditures and acquisitions within NRG business segment

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP and financial knowledge necessary
  • A minimum of 10 or more years of experience in an analytical role in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, and Business where you had financial planning or similar responsibilities.
  • Must have advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables
  • Ability to travel within the U.S, 10%


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree
  • Essbase, Hyperion and SAP skills a plus
  • Prior energy experience a plus
  • Must be highly organized with strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to engage with and influence senior management
  • Demonstrate commitment to quality and strong attention to detail
  • Exhibit strong analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working both independently (self-starter) and in a team-oriented environment
  • Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines within a fast-paced environment
  • Forward thinker and self-starter who can follow directions but will also go the extra step
