Course Hero Inc is scaling, and so is our Finance team! Over the past 15 months, we have executed 4 M&A transactions and raised nearly $400m in Series C funding, valuing the company at $3.6B and accelerating our already impressive track record of responsible growth and sustained profitability. Now, we are looking for a Finance Director to partner with our exciting business vertical QuillBot’s leadership team to develop and execute all things FP&A (reporting, forecasting, planning/budgeting, investment decision-making, ad-hoc support). As the dedicated finance partner to executive-level management, you’ll be empowered to not only provide FP&A support, but also act as a "mini-CFO" to this high-potential, high-growth, international business. In addition to very senior level functional expertise in FP&A, the ideal candidate has proven themselves to be a trusted business partner to their stakeholders, exhibiting indispensable thought leadership and influence. This role is a direct report to the VP Finance and will be a valued member of the finance leadership team.

Here are some ways you’ll make an impact:Â
- Build and lead partnership between the FP&A function & Quillbot leadership. Act as a key member of the Quillbot GM’s staff in support of all business decisions
- Drive the writing vertical’s annual budget process and implement a more robust quarterly update process. Own monthly financial reporting and budget tracking
- Work closely with management on ad hoc projects to provide in-depth business case analysis and intuitive reporting to drive intelligent decision making
- Define and monitor key performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of changes
- Identify cost savings opportunities and aid in purchasing decisions
- Own finance integration for potential future new businesses in the writing space, including but not limited to educating the new teams on finance processes, systems and concepts
Are you our Director, FP&A?
- 10+ years of experience in primarily FP&A - you’ve led planning/budgeting and full P&L forecasting,and have extensive experience building and maintaining complex financial models
- Independently led an FP&A function where the key stakeholders are executive level - you have influenced senior leadership across all communication channels and settings with key insights, practical experience, bold decision-making using a consultative, collaborative approach.
- Able to synthesize complex ideas and communicate them in clearly understandable ways to your stakeholders; you clearly and concisely present issues, are patient in the education of non-finance stakeholders
- Improved processes and automated manual tasks and analyses - you see around the curve to proactively solve systemic problems & seek out new ways to add operational value
- Thrive under pressure and ambiguity; you take incomplete information & nebulous problems to solve as opportunities rather than challenges, you employ business common sense and attention to detail
Bonus Points
- Anaplan or Essbase experience
- NetSuite experience
- Experience working with international teams
- MBA strongly preferred
