ROLE OVERVIEW

Do you have a passion for communication, employee engagement, and building an employee culture in which we can be proud? We are looking for a Global Communications Director to join our Global Marketing & Communications team!

 Reporting into the Vice President Global Marketing & Communications, in this role, you will have the opportunity to shape culture, celebrate business success, improve client engagement, and educate our employees around the world. You will be working closely with our People Team, Marketing Services Team, and Category & Sourcing Services team, partnering with Creative to deliver a range of communications activity.

We are looking for a confident, dynamic, passionate communications professional who will continuously look for the most effective ways to engage colleagues, clients, and the world with our story. You will need to manage multiple projects and partners comfortably, have a passion for storytelling and be willing to bring innovative communications solutions to the table. We are also seeking individuals who have the ability to think strategically, and the skills to take deliverables over the finish line.

 

Responsibilities:

Serving as a communications partner, consultant, and leader supporting one of our largest clients, you’ll work with partners at all levels in the organization to promote the business internally with employees and externally with both our client and the public. This includes spotting great stories and advising colleagues in other teams on effective communications tactics. You will also create content plans for various internal and external communication channels, and develop messaging targeted to key partners.

 

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Developing and executing strategic communication plans that drive business strategies and objectives
  • Serving as thought partner to leadership teams on written, verbal, and visual communication strategies
  • Ensuring communications consistently reflect tms brand, voice and style
  • Supporting employee and client events by planning and executing webcasts, forums, etc.
  • Raising tms profile and brand awareness by identifying key global people and work-related awards and events with industry publications and professional bodies/associations, and developing supporting award entries
  • Driving tms’ employment brand by developing communications to drive recruitment
  • Managing shared creative resources including contracted vendors, designers, etc.
  • Tracking and reporting content effectiveness metrics to internal partners, as well as continually monitoring, analyzing, and tuning messaging to improve impact

 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years in a corporate communications/marketing or similar environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications or a related field (Journalism, Marketing Communications, Public Relations); experience in Change Management a plus
  • Strong storytelling and writing skills, with ability to draft engaging copy
  • Experience working with a variety of communication vehicles and content management systems
  • Team player with experience managing multiple priorities
  • Ability to work independently and a desire to be self-directed

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a global or matrixed organization
  • Video editing, podcast production, and photo editing (Adobe Design Suite)
  • Background in marketing agency services, sourcing operations, product management, or category management
  • Prior experience supporting C-level executives
  • Project management experience a plus
