The Director, Global IT Category Management will have responsibility for management of key strategic projects and all related Strategic Sourcing and Category Management activities for all IT spend categories. Using a consultative model, the primary focus will be to provide the necessary professional and organizational direction, and support that is needed to lead, or closely coordinate activities across all business units within the company, and its subsidiaries. To carry out this mission, Director, Global IT Category Management will need to build strong partnerships with Business Unit and other key internal stakeholders and must be skilled in promoting the Strategic Sourcing concept. To this end, he/she will need to:

  • Build partnerships with key business units and successfully embed a formal, fact-based Strategic Sourcing and Category Management processes
  • Be highly persuasive and capable of building consensus, despite potential disagreements or complexity
  • Recommend alternatives to continuously gain customer buy-in and endorsement
  • Demonstrate strong facilitation, leadership and interpersonal abilities when working with varying staff levels
  • Demonstrate strong subject matter expertise, project management skills, and knowledge of industry best practices, and provide information and insight to internal customers and other business stakeholders
  • Directly own and manage sourcing projects/initiatives across all strategic sourcing phases (pre-Sourcing, Sourcing, and post Sourcing), using varying PM tools
  • Develop and communicate workplans ensuring issues are addressed effectively and consensus is established for initiatives and strategies
  • Apply market research and requirements gathering techniques to optimize sourcing approach, foster competition and support positive negotiated outcomes
  • Develop and maintain high quality deliverables (e.g. RFx, Cost Analysis, Evaluation Tools, Presentations, Negotiation Guides and Contractual Documents)
  • Assist in developing, designing, sharing and establishing Category Management and Strategic Sourcing best practices
  • Support internal teams in resolving interdependency and policy compliance issues
  • Work closely and interact continually with Team Leader of Global IT Category Management to identify performance/project issues and continuously implement initiatives to upgrade technical, business and interpersonal skills
  • Keep Team Leader of Global IT Category Management informed of all work in progress and any concerns/challenges as these come up
  • Monitor performance against pre-established department objectives and individually established goals
  • Support the Broadridge Supplier Diversity program and promote the inclusion of diverse suppliers in all sourcing initiatives
  • Act as a liaison between Business Units, appropriate internal stakeholders (e.g. Legal, Risk Management, Security, AP, etc.), and third-party suppliers, to ensure business objectives are achieved

Qualifications:

  • 7-10 years of experience in Sourcing and Category Management as part of best-in-class sourcing organizations with strong customer centric approach
  • A Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred
  • Experience sourcing Corporate and Facilities spend categories, including Facilities Management, Construction, Production Support, MRO, Physical Security, Office Supplies, Courier Services, Health and Safety, Managed Print, and Office Furniture Experience building and executing against category strategies is preferred
  • Significant experience with and exposure to Procure-to-Pay process.
  • Leadership experience with ability to assume a project lead role and drive project strategies, supplier negotiations and implementation of Procurement programs for a wide variety of products and services
  • Demonstrated analytical skills, including market research, data and information analysis, RFP assessment and evaluation
  • Ability to present business cases to drive stakeholder engagement, endorsement and process improvement Previous consulting experience is preferred.
