Job Description

The Director/ Sr. Manager of Global Learning and Development reporting to the Director, Global Talent Acquisition and Development will create and execute the global learning and development strategy for Minitab to ensure effective and efficient capability building that targets critical skills and behaviors to drive success and meet business needs. Inspires a culture of learning and development through successful training program creation and delivery.

  • Work closely with Director TA and Development, business leaders and management in all functions to identify organizational training requirements, priorities, goals, and objectives.
  • Build out Minitab’s training and development roadmap and then cascade roadmap into an overall project plan to develop and deliver approved training programs across the organization.
  • Conduct a needs analysis to identify talent, leadership, learning and performance skill gap areas and prioritize talent development solutions focused on learning, skill development, and overall employee retention.
  • Source or develop and coordinate training programs; conduct training sessions, facilitate, and provide hands-on instruction, as needed
  • Select and partner with subject matter experts and vendors to develop and deliver effective training programs; ensure competency-based approach with robust evaluation methods for all offerings
  • Select and evaluate appropriate instructional procedures or methods
  • Assist in coordinating efforts associated with leadership & management development programs to develop a leadership pipeline, including, but not limited to, session coordination, logistics, and interfacing with trainers, session facilitation, and instructional design across the organization
  • Provide insight and recommends best practice tools, technology and learning systems to expand the reach and effectiveness of training curricula.
  • Design and develop management training and new manager assimilation program.
  • Help managers develop growth plans or individual development plans for their teams and themselves.
  • Compile, analyze, and report on past and current performance indicators by function and identify gaps in skills and/or competencies and make recommendations for training and non-training solutions and improvements.  
  • Support configuration, content development and sourcing, and administration of an on-line learning management system
  • Design and implement successful programs to identify talent and link employee development plans to company growth and staffing requirements.
  • Partner with Talent leader to align employee training activities with performance management practices and organizational goals.
  • Implement detailed metrics to effectively measure, benchmark, and monitor the learning and development impact to the business.
  • Evaluate and measure results of learning solutions to ensure learning solutions are meeting business needs, supporting employees’ growth, and improving performance.

Requirements

  • 7-10+ years in a training and development role - in the technology space preferred
  • Expert in instructional design
  • Expertly trained in training and facilitation
  • Master’s degree preferred. Bachelor’s degree minimum
  • Certifications in leadership training models, and other learning modalities, desired.
  • In-depth knowledge of LMS systems technology selection and deployment
  • Expert knowledge of learner-centric instructional design and learning technologies, as well as adult learning principles.
  • Superior project management skills
  • Proven understanding of HR principles and application of policy and procedures. HR Certification desired.
  • Proven expertise in the application of project and personnel management principles, including the ability to effectively manage multiple projects and work with stakeholders across the organization
  • Highly skilled with design and delivery of learning programs.
  • Expert financial acumen including budgeting and resource management.
  • Superior oral/written communication skills and training content facilitation experience.
  • Ability to successfully navigate in a fast-paced, outcomes-driven, and collaborative global environment.
  • Well-organized and self-motivated and strong attention to detail.
