Director, Global Network Operations - Strategic

The Director, Global Network Operations - Strategic works closely with the Head of the Strategic NOC and helps to provide direction, leadership, and supervision of NOC Technicians, leads, and managers. The Director maintains relationships with key customers, develops, and implements process and service improvement programs.
Responsibilities

• Represents Zayo and develops relationships with customers, vendors, and partners.
• Performs technical review of customer outages and provide detailed root cause analysis.
• Reviews chronic issues and then develops and executes improvement plans.
• Acts as a program manager for service and NOC improvement projects.
• Establish and maintain documentation of training, processes, workflows, and systems.
• Develops and implements evidence-based process improvement programs to drive day-to-day improvements within the Zayo NOC.
• Collaborates with departmental leaders throughout Zayo to reduce cost, speed up repairs, and reduce the frequency of service impact.
• Generates reports for customers and Zayo leadership with regard to service availability, MTTR, overall customer and network volumes.
• Promotes a strong culture committed to service quality through the successful execution of repeatable, well-designed processes.
• Acts as a bridge between technical and non-technical teams and partners, ensuring clear communication.
• Acts as a crisis manager and maintain executive and external communication during major outages.
• The Director, NOC is required to be on call and/or work various shifts (such as weekends and/or evenings.)

Qualifications

• Experience managing large network overhaul or deployment projects required.
• Experience developing managers or leaders required
• Six Sigma black belt certification preferred.
• High level of proficiency with database, spreadsheet and accounting software applications. Knowledge of accounting, finance and economics principles and practices.
• Extensive knowledge of the following Transmission and TCP/IP standard telecommunication practices and technologies:
  
  • Ethernet and IP Networking
  • BGP, OSPF, RIP, MPLS, VPLS, ELAN, ELINE Spanning Tree Protocols
  • Cisco and Juniper Operating Systems
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Management experience required.
• Travel may be required up to 30% of the time.
• Able to communicate (written and oral) with coworkers and various outside business contacts in a courteous and professional manner.

Base pay range: $137,600-$196,500, commensurate with experience
