Director, Global Public Policy

Job Summary: 

Reporting to the Executive Vice President of Global Business Development and Logistics, this position will define and analyze key global markets’ legislative actions, determine the potential impact on the organization, and develop appropriate global public policy for the entire organization.  This cross-functional position will partner with leaders across internal and external organizations to ensure that public policy strategy is aligned with key business priorities.  iHerb is seeking a global leader with a high business acumen and the ability to lead large scale initiatives across the organization.

Job Expectations: 

• Develop and manage a global public policy strategy, including advancing key relationships with trade and industry associations as well as collaborating with other industry leaders to build common areas of interest
• Monitor and analyze proposed legislation, emerging issues, and trends to advise on and resolve the potential impact on the business
• Lead and ensure preparation for key meetings with key regulators and other leaders globally as necessary
• Oversee, develop, and manage legislative and regulatory strategies to advocate for company-wide public policy goals
• Advise executives of global policy developments that could result in potential business impact
• Create a broad and deep network of relationships with policymakers, thought leaders, and other policy professionals to enhance company’s reputation as a constructive and reputable player in the health and wellness industry
•  Support iHerb’s go-to-market strategies to manage associated growth risks
• Manage external firms, associations, and other third-party groups globally for policy issues
• Serve as a liaison and primary point of contact for government, regulatory, or political communications
•  Assist in the drafting and preparing of materials distributed to key public policy audience

Equipment Knowledge: 

• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Experience with Google Business Suite (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms) preferred

Experience Requirements:

• 5+ years developing and executing public policy strategies and operating in a public policy environment
• Experience managing government relations professionals and associations
• Proven experience with issues and advocacy with legislative and regulatory policies
• Experience working with a growth-oriented, global organization is a plus

Education Requirements: 

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Public Policy, or International Relations
• MBA or Masters Preferred
