Director, Global Strategic Pricing, E-Commerce
Job Description
This is an exciting new leadership role responsible for developing and managing a strategic pricing vertical within the e-commerce department at Workhuman. This is a fantastic opportunity for an entrepreneurial, analytical leader and problem-solver who enjoys building and is excited by the dynamics of an early-stage environment which requires balancing high-level strategy and long-term planning with agile and creative real-time problem solving. The Director of Global Strategic Pricing will be responsible for evolving and expanding our global e-commerce pricing strategies and developing the plan, team, and tactics to execute while driving significant value for our business. You will partner closely with numerous e-commerce and cross-functional teams to advance our pricing and cost strategies to deliver a superior user experience and client satisfaction and value while maximizing company revenue and profitability to fuel growth.

The position will report to the Senior Vice President of E-Commerce.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage the strategic pricing e-commerce vertical, including the catalog pricing strategy, the long-term vision for the team, technology and capabilities needed to manage the strategy on a global scale (100+ countries), and implementation of short and long-term solutions to maximize business outcomes
- Build, develop, and scale a team to support and drive your plan and to enable scalability of our strategic pricing capabilities and approach
- Partner with e-commerce technology teams to evaluate technical capabilities, data infrastructure, and toolset and map out and design implement technology for scale
- Build scalable and dynamic analyses to design our pricing strategy for our global catalog spanning numerous product categories across 100+ countries
- Test, build, and algorithmically optimize our every day, promotional, and client-specific catalog pricing models to drive the combination of conversion rate, client satisfaction, and profitability
- Bring large, complex data sets together to drive pricing insights around user behavior, market competitiveness, and client satisfaction
- Continuously monitor the market to benchmark Workhuman vs. our competitors and the broader retail/e-commerce landscape and recommend strategic changes as needed; establish and manage third party vendors to provide market pricing insights
- Deliver insights and recommendations to executive-level teams to drive high impact decisions with high visibility
- Develop and manage third party partnerships for competitive pricing data; come to a deep understanding of the competitive dynamics of our business and integrate market data into our pricing analyses and strategies
- Partner with cross-functional teams including Sales, Client Strategy, Marketing, Finance and Operations to understand the needs of each side of the business, incorporate those into our pricing strategy, and regularly communicate updates and results
- Work closely with e-commerce leaders to understand team goals and initiatives; partner on pricing strategies to support Buying, Category Management, Merchandising, Promotions, and Client Engagement roadmaps
- Prepare executive presentations, including reporting, comprehensive business analyses, storylines to tie key strategic updates and action plans to financials & forecasts, and recommendations to senior management and the Board
- Work closely with broader e-commerce Analytics, Workhuman IQ, and Business Analytics teams to evolve Workhuman's data sophistication and data-based decision-making capabilities
Requirements & Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in analytics roles with 4+ years in a pricing analytics, business analytics, strategy and/or optimization-focused role in a technology (preferably ecommerce or SAAS) environment
- Highly analytical toolkit, an ownership mindset, a strong bias for action, and a desire to drive high-impact decisions with executive-level visibility
- Demonstrated experience in pricing optimization and in defining, executive, and bringing pricing strategies and solutions to market
- Entrepreneurial leader - ability to develop and lead strategy while getting down in the weeds with the team to drive fast and effective execution from day 1 with limited resources
- Proficiency querying and analyzing large datasets, including relational and non-relational datastores
- Experience with and understanding of financial margin contribution analysis and forecasting, price elasticity, catalog/inventory trend analysis
- Demonstrated capability of designing, developing, and managing operational KPI dashboards; experience with tools like Tableau/PowerBI/Looker/Grafana a plus
- Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results in an unstructured environment
- Collaborator who thrives on teamwork and has a demonstrated ability to accomplish goals by working cross-functionally; an evangelist who can get stakeholders on board with a plan and leverage cross-functional resources to get things done
- Player/Coach mentality and strong management skills; experience building and managing a high-performing team
- Desire to make an impact on business decisions with data; possess a balance of strong quantitative and analytical skills with a passion in business and leadership
- Appreciate the power of a data-driven environment and serve as a data evangelist to help grow and build a highly analytical culture
- Resourceful and creative problem solver - proven ability to tackle complex challenges with limited resources
- BA/BS with strong academic record, preferably in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or other quantitative discipline preferred
- MBA from a top tier school or similar degree desired
- This role requires a unique mix of business intuition, analytical expertise, and stakeholder management to drive strategic decisions related to growth and profitability

Location: We are open to this role being located in either of our headquarters in Framingham, MA or Dublin, Ireland, or having the position be remote
