The Director, Global Tax will be responsible for all aspects of tax at Syndigo, including tax accounting, planning and strategy, tax filings, tax research, M&A tax diligence, transfer pricing and cash repatriation. In this role, the Director, Global Tax will lead the design and implementation of tax policies and contribute as a key member of the accounting and finance leadership team. This position reports to the VP Global Controller and will work closely with other functions within the organization including the International Accounting/Tax Team. This position is an individual contributor role that collaborates closely with internal stakeholders as well as external tax advisors.

HOW WE’LL BE WINNING TOGETHER DAY TO DAY

  • Lead tax operations covering domestic and international jurisdictions.
  • Initiate, develop, and manage global tax strategies.
  • Manage transfer pricing planning, implementation, and documentation, including maintenance of cost sharing structures.
  • Interpret, apply, and communicate tax laws and regulations including their impacts to the business.
  • Prepare the calculation of the Company’s income tax expense and balance sheet income tax positions.
  • Prepare calculations of material book to tax adjustments.
  • Prepare calculations of unrecognized tax benefit or reserve for uncertain tax positions.
  • Responsible for global direct and indirect taxes, including income, sales and use, property, and consumption-based taxes. Including actively monitoring US, state, and international tax legislative and judicial actions, analyze potential impacts/benefits, and implement mitigation or action plans for the Company.
  • Review and draft tax-related language in commercial contracts.
  • Support FP&A in budgeting and forecasting of tax expense and cash flows.
  • Lead M&A tax due diligence activities.
  • Responsible for the preparation of financial statement provisions and footnote disclosures in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Prepare fixed asset depreciation schedules for tax (federal and state) regarding additions, disposals, and any other changes within fixed assets.
  • Manage and resolve tax audits.
  • Partner and consult with external tax advisors as needed.
  • Collaborate with senior management and across functions with tax queries, be the expert and explain possible tax implications and provide practical solutions for the business both domestically and internationally.

WE SHOULD TALK IF THIS SOUNDS LIKE YOU 

  • 10+ years of pertinent tax experience preferably in a SaaS or technology environment for a private equity company
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required; CPA required; Master’s degree in accounting or tax preferred
  • M&A integration experience required
  • Experience driving efficiencies and automation and collaborating across functions
  • Have excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to non-tax personnel
  • Knowledge of NetSuite, Avalara, and Salesforce is a plus
  • Enjoy working in an environment that is mostly remote

 

LOCATION:

  • Eastern/Central Time Zone location preferred
  • Atlanta/Chicago/Nashville/Houston locations preferred

This is a Remote/Hybrid work environment role. Some travel may be required.
