Who You Are:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our organization as the Head of Risk Engineering. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring effective risk management by overseeing the governance and maintenance of our Beacon analytics platform. Additionally, the Head of Risk Engineering will be responsible for leading a team, driving growth, and achieving exceptional results here at Galaxy.
What You’ll Do:
- Governance and Maintenance of Beacon Analytics Platform:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Beacon analytics platform, ensuring its smooth functioning and accuracy in risk calculations.
- Develop and implement standardized processes and controls to maintain data integrity and quality within the platform.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define and enforce data governance policies and guidelines for the platform.
- Stay up to date with industry best practices and emerging trends in risk management and analytics to continuously enhance the platform's capabilities.
- Team Management and Development:
- Lead and manage a team of risk engineering professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and high performance.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and coaching to team members, supporting their professional growth and development.
- Set clear goals and objectives for the team, ensuring alignment with the organization's risk management strategy.
- Foster a collaborative environment, encouraging knowledge sharing and cross-functional teamwork.
- Risk Management Strategy and Execution:
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to define the risk management strategy and objectives of the organization.
- Develop and implement risk management frameworks, methodologies, and processes that align with industry best practices.
- Monitor and assess risks across the organization, ensuring proactive identification, measurement, and mitigation of risks.
- Regularly review and update risk models, metrics, and thresholds based on changing business needs and regulatory requirements.
- Reporting and Communication:
- Prepare and present comprehensive risk reports to senior management and other relevant stakeholders.
- Communicate risk-related insights, trends, and recommendations in a clear and concise manner.
- Act as a subject matter expert on risk management and the Beacon analytics platform, providing guidance and support to internal teams as needed.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Risk Management, Engineering, Finance, or related disciplines.
- Extensive experience in risk management, particularly in the financial services industry or a similar high-risk environment.
- Strong expertise in risk analytics, data modeling, and quantitative analysis techniques.
- In-depth knowledge of risk management frameworks, methodologies, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in working with risk management systems and platforms, with specific experience in Beacon analytics platform strongly preferred.
- Proven experience in leading and managing a team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex risk concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to drive results, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

The base salary ranges included below are for NY-based hires only and will be commensurate with candidate experience and expertise. Base salary ranges for candidates in other locations other than New York may differ based on the cost of labor in that location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including geographic location as well as candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed below. At Galaxy, we maintain a total compensation philosophy which consists of a competitive base salary, annual bonus, and equity incentives.
