Director, Head of Risk Engineering

Who You Are:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our organization as the Head of Risk Engineering. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring effective risk management by overseeing the governance and maintenance of our Beacon analytics platform. Additionally, the Head of Risk Engineering will be responsible for leading a team, driving growth, and achieving exceptional results here at Galaxy.

What You’ll Do:

• Governance and Maintenance of Beacon Analytics Platform:
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Beacon analytics platform, ensuring its smooth functioning and accuracy in risk calculations.
  • Develop and implement standardized processes and controls to maintain data integrity and quality within the platform.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define and enforce data governance policies and guidelines for the platform.
  • Stay up to date with industry best practices and emerging trends in risk management and analytics to continuously enhance the platform's capabilities.

• Team Management and Development:
  • Lead and manage a team of risk engineering professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and high performance.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and coaching to team members, supporting their professional growth and development.
  • Set clear goals and objectives for the team, ensuring alignment with the organization's risk management strategy.
  • Foster a collaborative environment, encouraging knowledge sharing and cross-functional teamwork.

• Risk Management Strategy and Execution:
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to define the risk management strategy and objectives of the organization.
  • Develop and implement risk management frameworks, methodologies, and processes that align with industry best practices.
  • Monitor and assess risks across the organization, ensuring proactive identification, measurement, and mitigation of risks.
  • Regularly review and update risk models, metrics, and thresholds based on changing business needs and regulatory requirements.

• Reporting and Communication:
  • Prepare and present comprehensive risk reports to senior management and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Communicate risk-related insights, trends, and recommendations in a clear and concise manner.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on risk management and the Beacon analytics platform, providing guidance and support to internal teams as needed.

What We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Risk Management, Engineering, Finance, or related disciplines.
• Extensive experience in risk management, particularly in the financial services industry or a similar high-risk environment.
• Strong expertise in risk analytics, data modeling, and quantitative analysis techniques.
• In-depth knowledge of risk management frameworks, methodologies, and regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency in working with risk management systems and platforms, with specific experience in Beacon analytics platform strongly preferred.
• Proven experience in leading and managing a team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex risk concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to drive results, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
