The Director of HR Operations is responsible for staying up to date on all general labor law compliance and regulations, operational change, transformation, and managing the HR critical work stream activity for mergers and acquisitions, Global Expansion, and integration. This role will collaborate with the members of the HR and Talent teams to navigate and deliver action items. With specialized experience M&A activities and a focus on Human Resources, this position identifies key actions required, outlines the ideal approach for accomplishing tasks and supports the team with guidance and expertise to ensure the deliverables are met. The Director of HR Operations is responsible for training and communicating best practices to applicable business teams and ensuring that internal regulations are met.
The Director of HR Operations will be responsible for, but not be limited to:
- Translate business, systems, operational and process requirements into HR project plans for the various HR functional groups to lead and execute to success.
- Serves as primary contact for operation metrics across the HR function. Develops quarterly metrics presentation and monthly reports.
- Manages all employee surveys to include surveys related to external marketing efforts
- Design and facilitate team and offsite meetings as needed
- Leads and manages the overall performance management process
- Have a deep understanding of internal HR requirements, assess gaps, and optimize systems and processes to help efficiently manage our HR function as we grow and scale globally
- Serve as a primary point of contact for the HR team on all Mergers and Acquisitions and Global expansion into new countries.
- Represent the M&A HR team on cross-functional teams and interdependencies with the PMO team, Business Development, IT, Legal, and Finance
- Assist with cross-functional challenges related to integration, including compensation, benefits, leveling, payroll, recruiting, onboarding, etc.
- Develop a complete and configurable integration playbook that will help applicable team members identify and close gaps between Nordic and the acquired company. Ensure the playbook references interdependencies between HR and other functional areas such as Legal, Finance and IT
- Work with HR functional subject matter experts to ensure detailed plans are implemented and executed and progress is tracked against the HR Plans
- Identify, track, and monitor any tasks and issues and help develop solutions for HR deliverables in change management, workforce administration, HR policies, HR processes, and communications
- Review current and continuously improve all HR processes and recommend improvements, automation, and scalability
- Management responsibility compliance and global mobility roles/team members
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 10+ years' experience working in HR program/project management capacity and HR Operations capacity in a growth or transformation company
- Proven ability to connect with a wide range of new people and build quick rapport
- Deep understanding of Human Resources information systems, HR policies, and compliance laws
- 3+ years' experience in HR M&A and company expansion into new countries
- Strong written and oral communication skills, leadership capabilities, analytical skills, project management and presentation skills.
- Comfortable with creating many types of documents, including agendas, action/project plans, and presentations. Strong skills with spreadsheets and a variety of data/information.
- Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills, including ability to build relationships and leverage resources within the HR and cross functional teams
- Motivated, organized self-starter, able to solve routine or complicated problems effectively and drive projects to successful completion.
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems and address ambiguous issues.
- Passionate and enthusiastic about delivering excellence and exceptional attention to detail.
- Workday experience a plus
- Attention to detail and passion for data accuracy
- Leading compliance-related projects and initiatives, and proactively formulating risk mitigation strategies with HR leadership
- Must demonstrate and embrace Nordic's maxims
