Director, Immigration
Job Description
Job Tasks:
- Assign operational and functional activities and disseminate policy to department staff.
- Provide training, give work directions, resolve problems, prepare schedules, and set deadlines to ensure timely completion of work.
- Create, modify and disseminate policies and procedures to ensure consistency in processing at each step of the process in immigration.
- Partner with appropriate internal teams to ensure nurses are ready for placement, and when placed, will start on time.
- Monitor the immigration timelines from application to approval to Embassy interview to start and flag any significant changes.
- Conduct weekly one on one meetings with each team member to review priorities for the week/month and on-going professional development.
- Review immigration checklists (USCIS and NVC) with Immigration Team Lead and agree a resolution.
- Partner with Licensure & Credentialing team to get licensure timelines and specific requirements for new state boards of nursing for accurate starts.
- Adhere to a pre-agreed budget guidelines for Immigration.
- Manage the process flow and review for improvements in processing and timelines.
- Ensure the team builds and maintains a positive working relationship with candidates from I140 filing to on assignment.
- Ensure there is verbal communication with nurse from hand off of file from Recruitment through start of assignment.
- Provide all OGP Departments with any Immigration input that they require in order to provide an exceptional level of customer service to our external customers.
- Develop and maintain IDPs for direct reports
- Produce weekly metric reports for leader
- Manage and maintain applications for prevailing wage determinations to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Manage the posting of notices at all client facilities and maintenance of list of clients for I140 filings to ensure compliance
- Manage the filing of I140s, responses to USCIS requests, denials and approvals.
- Produce weekly, monthly, quarterly reports on timelines and productivity for immigration department and report out to leadership
- Education
- Bachelor's Degree | Preferred
- Minimum Work Experience
- 7+ years in a supervisory role.
