About the Job:

Cyderes is seeking a Director of Information Technology. The ideal candidate will be a proven leader who can leverage their IT service and delivery experience, thought leadership, and technical acumen to help transform the Cyderes IT team into a high-performing technology service and support organization.

The role will work closely with the VP, Information Technology and the IT leadership team to transform two legacy start-up IT organizations into a cohesive corporate level technology team. The chosen candidate should be well versed in:

  • corporate level IT organizations including compliance, governance and change management
  • developing IT policies, procedures and processes
  • familiar with compliance initiatives such as SOC2 audit
  • selecting, establishing or implementing core IT solutions including:
    • IT procurement and financial management
    • asset and inventory management
    • contract management
    • supplier and vendor management
    • end-user support/help desk ticketing
    • knowledge management
  • identifying, tracking and reporting key performance indicators
  • establishing service level agreements
  • streamlining and managing day-to-day IT operations including help desk, patch management, and technical IT projects
  • mentoring and coaching technology personnel and teams

Responsibilities:

• Experience supporting/managing cloud-based systems and infrastructure for a fast-growing corporation

• Day-to-day oversight and management of the IT team

• Implement a full complement of policies, procedures, processes, systems, metrics, and reporting that not only meets current needs of the business but positions the organization for fast and continued growth

• Monitor and assure adherence to policies, procedures, processes, service level agreements, metrics, budget, schedules, work plans and performance requirements

• Manage the IT Operations and Support team to streamline operations, track and report key metrics, grow the team's skills and abilities and implement a continuous evaluation and improvement process.

• Work alongside the IT leadership team to build out additional IT services and functions as required

• Define requirements, select, and implement IT solutions to improve the identification, tracking, reporting and operations of the IT function

• Manage and direct cross-functional teams to deliver projects and/or services as required by the business

• Timely and clear communication with team members in both praising a job well done or providing guidance on methods to improve capabilities and service

Requirements

• Minimum a bachelor's degree in computer science/Information Systems, Engineering, or Science equivalent

• 15+ years experience in systems management, information technology, or related fields with at least 7 years as a IT Director managing an information technology operational department including day-to-day operations, help desk, and technical IT projects

• 7+ years of work experience with general business operations systems including CRM, financial, accounting, project management, HR, etc.

• Proven track record of expertise in network security architecture, network infrastructure, operating systems, and Internet structure and development

• Excellent analytical, technical, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, both verbal and written; ability to condense complex information into simple language for the appropriate audience

• Proven experience with IT governance and compliance including policy and procedure development, process design and implementation, systems selection and implementation, third-party compliance and audits (e.g., SOC 2, etc.)

• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills

• Multi-tasker who is comfortable working alone or in a team environment. Detail oriented, ability to assess a situation quickly and form a plan of action

• Experience with design thinking, innovation lifecycle of software development (prototyping, fail early etc.), and agile delivery

• Experience, desire and comfort to build and work with teams located across many locations and geographies

  • Willingness to work at the office - this is not a remote position. We want the resource in the Kansas City office located in South Kansas City.
  • Flexibility to work as required to meet the needs that arise in a technology department
  • Strong mentor and coach to IT team members to enabling IT personnel to continue to grow and expand their capabilities
