Director, Information Technology/M&A Description

This role is for an IT M&A Director serving the Americas region. The Director, Information Technology/M&A is responsible for leading all phases of IT M&A activities (IT due diligence, integration planning, IT integration execution, and directly leading the newly acquired business unit's IT team).This also includes any M&A work currently in-flight.

This person will apply proven IT M&A, business relationship, and team leadership skills to IT mergers & acquisitions projects.Ultimately the Director, Information Technology/M&A is a critical role.The Director, Information Technology/M&A can expect to work closely with senior business leaders, the IT leadership team, and IT technical teams.

  • Responsibilities

  • Support Allegion through leading the following types of activities, especially IT mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures:
    • IT due diligence
    • IT pre-close activities
    • IT integration planning
    • IT integration execution
    • Purchase agreement review in an IT context
    • Transition Service Agreement (TSA) creation and management for IT
    • IT project financial analysis and management
    • IT team leadership, including leading direct report(s) and leading without direct authority
  • Commit to continuous improvement by designing better post-integration lessons-learned conversations, also called an integration postmortem, to create guides, playbooks or other reusable resources after M&A experiences.
  • Inspire confidence through communication across all levels of the company
  • Demonstrate individual and collective accountability - by often representing the IT function in broader M&A contexts
  • Ensures alignment on critical strategic issues impacting M&A activities across all stakeholders
  • Providing insights and advise on transformation projects that you may not directly manage, such as other M&A's, greenfield builds, and other transformation projects.
  • Translating technical observations into practical, actionable, and readily understandable roadmaps for business and technical partners.
  • Be a critical member of Allegion's IT M&A practice area by working with other IT M&A practitioners and using and refining proprietary methodologies and continuing to evolve the efficient IT integration and/or divestiture of businesses.
  • Apply IT M&A best practices and assist in training sessions to build IT M&A knowledge and skills amongst other company employees.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5-8 years of broad IT M&A experience
  • 5-8 years of information technology experience within a manufacturing company
  • 5-8 years of information technology application management experience
  • 1-3 years of experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning Systems (ERP)
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with others in person and remotely
  • Significant experience creating and analyzing Transition Service Agreements (TSA)
  • Significant experience conducting IT due diligence and managing IT integrations
  • Excellent business relationship management and customer service skills
  • Excellent negotiation skills, articulation of trade-off implications and leading with the best for Allegion, balancing multiple stakeholders' expectations
  • Excellent communication skills with all levels. Proven ability to lead and communicate orally, in written documents, and in formal presentations is required.
  • Experience writing business cases (including financial details) to support IT M&A activities.
  • Basic knowledge on a broad level of information technology concepts, including those involving applications and infrastructure.
  • Ability to travel on short notice and work additional hours as necessary. Especially committed to what is required to close deals as and when needed.
  • Travel percentage: 25% or as necessary.
