Job Summary

This role is responsible for helping the organization maintain and improve functional operations by providing professional expertise to current procedures. Their duties include meeting with senior leadership to identify goals and business needs and work closely with department leaders to develop and oversee the implementation of specific goals.

This position will have the ability to apply broad-based knowledge and experience about a specific area of the business to help develop and implement strategic improvement plans, identify performance gaps, develop and support the implementation of a recommended plan of action to close the gaps.

This position is responsible for providing business analysis and leadership to ensure alignment and integration across functional areas in support of business unit strategies and to ensure consistency and efficiency.  Leadership of major, complex, and strategic enterprise-wide projects from inception to completion; oversight coordination, and ability to implement projects according to dynamic and critical timelines; oversight of project teams, resources, and budget; and interacting with all levels of management including senior management. Supports the prioritization of business unit activities and tracks progress to goals.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Bring a specialized management consulting expertise to improve the performance of the company/organization
  • Work within the F&G corporate structure to resolve business issues and implement solutions with an organizational effectiveness/development, strategic planning and process improvement approach
  • Develops and leads process design or improvement initiatives within fast-paced environments, utilizing process expertise for multiple business groups and providing analysis (e.g. Customer Experience mapping, Process)
  • Serve as a change champion within F&G
  • Support internal clients in a shared service type organization, such as Human Resources, Information Technology, Finance, Operations, etc.
  • Use an innovative mindset that helps cultivate unique business strategies
  • Organize and assign business projects.
  • Develop detailed business plans with internal clients as well as external vendors and consultants
  • Build sound project and program business cases
  • Build out a practice that can be utilized within the business units to carry forth improvement work
  • As needed, lead efforts all the way through the completion, including project implementations
  • Works on complex problems involving multiple, possibly competing, business processes/process segments to identify risks/impacts/opportunities and where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangible variance factors, conceptual thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Consults with leaders to understand, influence, adapt analysis, and create alternatives for consideration
  • Leverages business acumen effectively to impart relevant information to business partners and matrixed leadership

Experience and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance, or management
  • MBA preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: project management, implementation, or strategic planning
  • Expertise in one or more key practice areas such as strategic/business planning and performance measurement, process management (including quality management and Six Sigma) or organizational effectiveness/development.
  • Must be able to handle the strategic and financial side of planning
  • Experience within Life and Annuities companies
