This position is open remotely within the central and eastern time zone.


The Director, IT Center of Excellence (COE) position will build and lead the IT Center of Excellence team that includes program and project managers, and business analysts across the corporate estate. You will report to the VP of IT & Portfolio Management and work closely with a core IT leadership team of IT Operations & Engineering, Enterprise Applications, and Go-To-Market (GTM) IT. You will also partner with our Human Resources, Enterprise Change & Communications, GTM, Legal, and Finance teams for technology changes and required programs.

IT Center of Excellence Scope
  • IT Portfolio management and project support across all pillars
  • IT leadership support including leadership weekly syncs and monthly department All Hands
  • Change management & communications for all IT programs and projects
  • IT operational excellence (Processes, standards, governance, etc.)
  • PMO processes, procedures, governance
  • Demand management
  • Software asset/portfolio management
  • Software spend governance
  • Capacity planning (includes operational & project)
  • Application Access Control Program
  • Reporting and Analytics (ServiceNow dashboards and reports)
Your Impact
  • Develop and implement an IT governance framework that supports Anaplan's strategic goals and objectives
  • Develop and implement Business System Analyst (BSA) and Project Manager (PM) role standards
  • Manage and assign BSAs and PMs to IT teams and/or projects/programs
  • Lead quarterly planning and ensure that all IT initiatives are properly scoped, planned, and resourced to meet business requirements
  • Monitor and report on project status, progress, and risks to key stakeholders
  • Implement and maintain project management processes, tools, and methodologies to ensure consistent and effective delivery of IT initiatives
  • Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement in the IT governance and PMO processes and practices
  • Lead multiple, concurrent sophisticated programs or projects
  • Develop the roadmap and drive the execution of IT programs and projects
  • Work with project owners to identify project scope, define success criteria, build and manage project budget, and outline resource requirements
  • Connect with stakeholders regularly to manage expectations and to provide project updates on scope, budget, and velocity
  • Involve project steering committee for guidance and key decisions
  • Interact and collaborate with multi-functional teams and different org levels
  • Promote inclusivity, be able to build consensus, facilitate collective decision-making, and create and cultivate an environment of respect, trust, and teamwork
Preferred Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in a director-level role leading an entire IT program
  • Minimum BS/BA in business administration or related field; master's degree preferred
  • PMP or CAPM certification
  • Prosci or CCMP certification
  • Significant work experience as a department director or similar position
  • Outstanding communication, executive presentation, and public speaking skills
  • Outstanding leadership and organizational skills
  • Competent collaborator and skilled cross-functional communicator
  • Problem-solving and root-cause identification skills
  • Able to work effectively at all levels of an organization
  • Must be a great teammate and able to work collaboratively with and through others
  • Acute business acumen and understanding of organizational issues and challenges
