Director, IT Infrastructure Operations

The Director of IT Infrastructure Operations is responsible for the people, process and technologies that ensure Cook Children's Health Care System (CCHCS) has a secure, stable and scalable IT infrastructure that is available 24x7x365. These responsibilities include but are not limited to oversight for the CCHCS data centers, servers, file storage, platform and system engineering, desktop infrastructure, virtual desktop infrastructure, and Epic technical infrastructure. The Director will use a data-driven approach to identify, measure and monitor key performance indicators across all operational areas that ensure IT infrastructure stakeholders are successful. The Director is a key member of the CCHCS Information Services Senior Leadership team and will work with peers and executives to develop operational reports, dashboards and other tools that are used to proactively identify, communicate and resolve any operational exceptions that occur. The Director will have one or more Epic certifications and use his or her Epic expertise to ensure IT infrastructure services are aligned with clinical applications and/or clinician requirements. The Director is customer-focused and highly collaborative and will ensure input from other IT infrastructure stakeholders are used to continuously improve all services that are delivered.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and five years management experience.
• Epic certification in one or more technical support areas.
• At least 5 years of management in healthcare information services experience, with 10 years healthcare information services experience.
• Experience with one or more of the following: VMWare, Citrix, Cisco and Microsoft technologies.
• Must have sound knowledge of the health care environment and applications.

Preferred:

• ITIL Foundations Certification Experience with process improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification

• Epic certification in one or more technical area.
