Director, IT Infrastructure Services

Summary

The Director of IT Infrastructure Services is primarily responsible for all aspects of IT infrastructure service delivery including: Cloud Based Operations, Data Center Operations, overseeing the support of technical infrastructure as it relates to data networks, storage, servers, and affiliate infrastructure(s) that provide service capability to F&G. This position is responsible to ensure that our service delivery exceeds documented service level agreements with business colleagues.  The incumbent is accountable for all problems, change configuration and release management activities for his/her area of responsibility.  Ability to conceptualize, plan and deploy technology in a strategic and/or tactical manner is required. Understanding and agreement of job requirement which may require after hours work/support and weekend work. 

Organization

The incumbent will work closely with subject matter experts from the technical and business teams to develop and deploy technical solutions in supporting the critical business functions of the enterprise.  He/she will direct a team of internal and external resources.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Build and maintain Cloud practice infrastructure capability within the organization and be ahead of the curve in capability to support the delivery organization of technological know-how in cloud-based technology
• Manage the delivery of agreed technology infrastructure related services within an approved budget and via a team based, customer centric approach
• Utilize in-depth knowledge of leading-edge products and technology to develop and implement solutions in complex enterprise environments
• Evaluate and recommend new systems and processes to develop system solutions that match or antcipate business requirements
• Responsible for the oversight, management and coordination of F&G data centers and cloud tenants
• Capacity and performance planning, measuring and monitoring and reporting
• Ensure effective communication and interaction with key associates involved in the delivery of the infrastructure solutions including traveling to meet with key colleagues to enhance understanding of overall requirements

Experience and Education Requirements

• Self-motivation and ability to thrive in fast-paced organization, outstanding multi-tasking and organization skills;
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills, solid technical experience in the areas of cloud, network, application server, e-mail, local and wide area networking, security and communications technology, backup and disaster recovery;
• Proven experience developing, planning and executing enterprise-wide infrastructure initiatives;
• Excellent communication and presentation skills including the ability to clearly articulate technology strategy recommendations often to those without a technical acumen;
• Strong influencing skills, the ability to interface at all levels of the organization.  Ability to develop solutions through collaboration;
• Experience with ITIL framework and processes helpful;
• Knowledge of and familiarity with current and emerging technologies;
• Positive team-oriented focus with the ability to communicate IT goals and vision throughout organization in a clear and compelling manner;
• B.S. degree in management information systems, computer science or business with a concentration in systems and a minimum of seven years professional experience.  Experience leading/managing within a successful IT organization in the financial services industry. Proven experience in managing IT infrastructure engineering teams
• Knowledge and experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps and infrastructure as code is a plus.

Hands-On Experience Requirements:

• Experience scripting in languages such as Perl, Ruby, Powershell, BASH or Python
• Experience with build tools, CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps
• Hands on experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Chef, Ansible or Puppet
• Experience with infrastructure deployment tools such as Packer and Terraform
• Understanding of Jira
• Familiarity with Docker, Docker Compose, Kubernetes and various container technologies
• Familiarity with high performance computing technologies
• Scrum/Agile DevSecOps Methodologies
• Cloud Security Certification, and/or OpenStack Administrator Certification a plus. (Other cloud-related certification also a plus.)
• Minimum of 7 years of infrastructure experience
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in LAN/WAN, VMWare, VDI, Cisco Routers/Switches and Cisco UCS Servers
• Minimum 7 years of experience in Microsoft Active Directory, enterprise storage, and Disaster Recovery and BCP is preferred
• Experience in distributed data center model is a plus
• Experience with automated monitoring tools
• Experience with VOIP, VTC and Mobility is a plus
• 5+ years of experience with coordinating with third party service providers and vendors
